ORDINANCE NO. 72-9-696
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT
WITH SCHIMPELER, CORRADINO ASSOCIATES TO PROVIDE THE CITY OF PADUCAH
WITH TECHNICAL AND PROFESSIONAL SERVICES FOR A MASS TRANSPORTATION
STUDY, AND PROVIDING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH SUCH
CONTRACT SHALL BE MADE
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah has heretofore submitted an
application to the United States of America Department of Transportation,
Urban Mass Transportatiob Administration, and
WHEREAS, the said Administration has authorized and approved
a contract with the city of Paducah for a $15,000.00 mass trans-
portation study,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized
to wxecute a contract between Schimpeler, Corradino Associates and
the City of Paducah, Kentucky, wherein the said Associates shall
provide technical and professional services in making a mass trans-
portation study for the City for the total sum of $15,000.00 and shall
provide such services as data collection, review of public assistance
to transit, review alternate mothods of ownership and associated costs,
review the adequacy of transit services, consider transit improvements
and costs, assist with establishing continuing transit planning,
assist in implementing a program and in applying for proper funding,
and submit a final report for the entire study with at least twenty-
five copies of the preliminary final report and one hundred copies of
the final report for distribution. The contract shall further specify
the material and services to be furnished to the contractor, a time
for performance to be within six months after authorization to proceed,
the amount of compensation which shall be an amount not exceeding
cash of $13,000.00 to the contractor with $2,000.00 being an in-kind
contribution from personnel of the City. and said contract shall be
subject to the approval of the Urban Mass Transportation Administration.
SECTION 2. An emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance

shall therefore be introduced and remain on file for one week for
public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put
upon its final passage, and if adopted shall be in full force and
effect immediately thereafter andretroactive to July 21, 1972.
