HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 17, Page 1144, No Resolution Number1144/ A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR TWO (2) 1,250 GALLON PER MINUTE PUMPING ENGINES WITH DIESEL ENGINE AND CAB FORWARD OVER ENGINE CHASSIS FOR USE IN THE PADUCAH FIRE DEPARTMENT, WITH ONE TO BE DELIVERED IDi THE YEAR 1973 AND ONE TO BE DELIVERED IN THE YEAR 1974, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, requested and authorized to advertise for bids for the purchase of two (2) 1,250 GPM Pumping engines with diesel engines and cab forward over engine chassis, according to the specifications compiled by and for the Paducah Fire Department for such equipment, which specifications have been received and filed with the minutes of the meeting of this Board on September 19, 1972, and in so advertising the City Manager will use substantially the following form: "INVITATION FOR BIDS The City of Paducah, Kentucky, will receive bids for sale to the City of two (2) 1,250 gallon per minute pumping engines with diesel engine and cab forward over engine chassis, for use in the Paducah Fire Department, until 10 o'clock a.m., on the 20th day of October, 1972, at City Hall, Commission Chambers, Paducah, Kentucky, at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. All provisions of the Rating Bureau are to apply and technical specifications may be obtained at the office of the City Manager or Fire Chief in Paducah, Kentucky. The City of Paducah reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. Bids may be held by the City of Paducah for a period not to exceed 90 days from the date of the opening of bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids, investigating the qualifications of the bidders and to insure that all specifications may be met. Delivery of one pumper shall be required for 1973 and delivery of one pumper shall be required for 1974. 1145 The City of Paducah, Kentucky By: Larry E. Thomas City Manager" Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the sale to the City of the foregoing property, including any and all applicable taxes, and each bidder shall state the approximate amount of time for delivery of each pumper, and each bid shall specify a specific amount he will accept for a sale of both pumpers or for a sale of each pumper, one to specify 1973 and the other 1974, and the City shall have the right to accept the bid for both pumpers or for either of the two separate units. Each bidder shall state all guarantees available for the equipment bid upon, and the successful bidder will be required to deliver the apparatus over the road and accompany it with a competent and responsible engineer to remain in the City a sufficient period of time to fully acquaint the department personnel with the operation and care of the apparatus. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by notice posted up at the City Hall door and by publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424. No bid shall be received after the hour fixed for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time for opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest responsible bidder. The City shall have the right to refuse and reject any and all bids. SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
