HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 17, Page 1118, Ordinance Number 72-8-684ORDINANCE NO. 72-8-684 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 24-18 AND 24-19 PERTAINING TO MEMBERSHIP ON THE PLANNING COMMISSION, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Section 24-18 Composition; appointment of members, of the Code of Ordinances City of Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and re - ordained so that said section as amended and reordained shall hereafter read as follows: "Sec. 24-18. Composition; appointment of members. The commission shall consist of a total of seven (7) voting members, to be appointed by the mayor, with the approval of the board of commissioners in conformity with the applicable law, plus two additional members represented by the city manager and city engineer, both of which shall be ex officio and non-voting, all of which member- ship shall be exclusive of any members who may be appointed by the county judge in the event of the exercise of extraterritorial juris- diction, as may be permitted by any applicable law." SECTION 2. That Section 24-19. Membership; qualifications, of the Code of Ordinances City of Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and reordained so that said section as amended and reordained shall hereafter read as follows: "Sec. 24-19. Membership; qualifications. The City Manager and city engineer shall be non-voting ex officio members of the commission, and all voting members of the commission shall be citizens of the City of Paducah who are not elected officials, or otherwise appointed officials or employees of the city." SECTION 3. Sections 1 and 2 above amend an ordinance originally adopted on August 24, 1966 and which were last amended by Section 1 of Ordinance No. 70-8-364, which was adopted August 11, 1970. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after September 1, 1972.
