HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 16, Page 953, Ordinance Number 69-4-19695 ORDINANCE NO. 69-4-196 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 8-B AND 8-D OF THE "APPOINTIVE EMPLOYEES' CIVIL SERVICE ORDINANCE" WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON DECEMBER 2, 1947, AND AMENDED ON DECEMBER 27, 1968 AND JANUARY 9, 1969 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Sections 8-B and 8-D of the "Appointive Employees' Civil Service Ordinance", which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on December 2, 1947, and amended on December 27, 1968 and January 9, 1969, be, and they are hereby, amended and reordained so that said sections as amended and reordained shall read as follows: "SECTION 8-B. There is hereby authorized and created the following�� positions in the Public Works Department, and the salaries of each position, provided the amount of such salary is not changed under any �L apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted shall be as follows: Position Base Monthly Salary Director of Public Works $670.00 Foreman (3 positions) 510.00 Secretary 330.00 Base Hourly Rate Sewer Maintenance Men (6 positions) $2.43 Equipment Operator (7 positions) 2.63 Street Repairmen (6 positions) 2.33 Truck Drivers (8 positions) 2.23 Laborers (3 positions) 2.00 Chidf Mechanic 2.73 Auto Repairman 2.63 Mechanic Helper 2.43 Concrete Finisher (4 positions) 2.73 The Secretary shall be paid at the rate of $330.00 per month for the first six months of employment; at the expiration -of six months $340.00 per month; at the expiration of one year $350.00 per month, and at the expiration of two years $360.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. 954 Sewer Maintenance Men shall be paid at the rate of $2.43 per hour for the first six months of employment and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be $2.48 per hour, such increase to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The Equipment Operator shall be paid at the rate of $2.63 per hour for the first six months of employment and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be $2.68 per hour, such increase to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The Street Repairmen shall be paid at the rate of $2.33 per hour for the first six months of employment and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be $2.38 per hour, such increase to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The Truck Drivers shall be paid at the rate of $2.23 per hour for the first six months of employment and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be increas ed to $2.28 per hour, such increase to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. Laborers shall be paid at the rate of $2.00 per hour for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $2.05 per hour; at the expiration of one year $2.10 per hour, and at the expiration of two years $2.15 per hour, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The Chief Mechanic shall be paid at the rate of $2.73 per hour for the first six months of employment and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be increased to $2.78 per hour, such increase to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The Auto Repairman shall be paid at the rate of $2.63 per hour for the first six months of employment, and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be increased to $2.68 per hour, such increase to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The Mechanic Helper shall be paid at the rate of $2.43 per hour for the first six months of employment and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be increased to $2.48 per hour, such increase to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The Concrete Finishers shall be paid at the rate of $2.73 per hour for the first six months of employment and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be increased to $2.78 per hour, such increase to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. 955 Refuse (Sanitary) Division Base Hourly Rate This Division shall be under the direction of the above mentioned Director of Public Works and the Assistant Director of Public Works Collectors (22 positions) $2.00 Truck Drivers (12 positions) 2.23 � Tire Repairman ( 1 position ) 2.43 Equipment Operator ( 2 positions) 2.63 Mechanic Helper ( 1 position) 2.43 Collectors shall be paid at the rate of $2.00 per hour for the first sio months of employment; at the expiration of six months $2.05 per hout';; at the expiration of one year $2.10 per hour, and at the expiration of two years $2.15 per hour; such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. Truck Drivers shall be paid at the rate of $2.23 per hour for the first six months of employment and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be increased to $2.28 per hour, such increase to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The Tire Repairman shall be paid at the rate of $2.43 per hour for the first six months of employment and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be increased to $2.48 per hour, such increase to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The Equipment Operators shall be paid at the rate of $2.63 per hour for the first six months of employment and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be increased to $2.68 per hour, such increase to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The Mechanic Helper shall be paid at the rate of $2.43 per hour for the first six months of employment and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be increased to $2.48 per hour, such increase to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. "SECTION 8-D, Sub -section 1. There is hereby authorized and created the following positions in the Floodwall Department, and the salary of each position, provided the amount of such salary is not changed under any apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted, shall be as follows: 956 II Z Position _ Base Monthly Salary Floodwall Superintendent, Head of Department $835.00 Floodwall Foreman 567.00 Floodwall Maintenance Man (Operators) (3 positions) 428.00 Floodwall Maintenance Man -A (operator) (1 position) 510.00 The Foreman shall be paid at the rate of $567.00 per month for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $577.00 per month and at the expiration of one year $587.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. Maintenance Men shall be paid at the rate of $428.00 per month for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $438.00 per month; at the expiration of one year $448.00 per month; at the expiration of two years $458.00 per month; and at the expiration of three years $468.00 per month; such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. "Sub -section 2. There is hereby authorized and created the following positions in the Sewage Disposal Department, and the salary of each position, provided the amount of such salary is not changed under any apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted, shall be as follows: Position Base Monthlv S=1ary Chief Operator $610.00 Maintenance Man 587.00 Operators (3positions) 428.00 Operatorw shall be paid at the rate of $428.00 per month for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $438.00 per month; at the expiration of one year $448.00 per month; at the expiration of two years $458.00 per month and at the expiration of three years $468.00 per month; such inereases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The Sewage Disposal Department shall be under the management and control of the Floodwall Superintendent, and the employees of the Floodwall Department, at his direction, may be assigned to work in the Sewage Disposal Department, and the employees of the Sewage Disposal Department, at his direction, may be assigned to work in the Floodwall Department, but any of such employees so assigned shall keep and maintain their civil service rights under the department to which they were originally assigned." 957 SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect on and after May 1, 1969.
