HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 16, Page 874, No Resolution Number874 ; A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO MAKE AN AMENDMENT TO THE APPLICATION WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT FOR A CONCENTRATED CODE ENFORCEMENT AND PUBLIC AND NEIGHBORHOOD IMPROVEMENT GRANT FOR THE OAKLAWN NEIGHBORHOOD IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM WHEREAS, since the original application by the City of Paducah, Kentucky, for the Oaklawn Concentrated Code Enforcement Program and the funding of said program under Project KY -E-1, there has been a reappraisal of family income and rehabilitation needs within the project area, and WHEREAS, it has become necessary to make an application for a revision in rehabilitation grants which are to be completely funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development, and WHEREAS, since the original application and funding of the project, the amounts for grants have been increased from $1,500.00 each to $3,000.00 each, NOW THEREFORE, BE -IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized and directed to file with the Department of Housing and Urban Development, on behalf of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, an amendment to the original application as authorized by this Board on October 3, 1967, for a concentrated code enforcement program, pursuant to Section 117 of the Housing Act of 1949, requesting an increase in funding for rehabilitation grants from $75,000.00 to $375,000.00. SECTION 2. That the Board hereby reaffirms all assurances heretofore made by this Board to the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development and contained in resolutions heretofore adopted on October 3, 1967, and November 14, 1967, and which resolutions and assurances were heretofore transmitted to the said Department with the priginal application for a Concentrated Code Enforcement and Public and Neighborhood Improvement Grant. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
