ORDINANCE NO. 69-1-161
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 8-D OF THE "APPOINTIVE EMPLOYEES'
CIVIL SERVICE ORDINANCE", WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
ON DECEMBER 2, 1947, AND AMENDED ON DECEMBER 27, 1968
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Section 8-D of the "Appointive Employees'
Civil Service Ordinance", which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners
on December 2, 1947, and amended on December 27, 1968, be, and the same
is hereby, amended and reordained so that said section as amended and
reordained shall read as follows:
"SECTION 8-D, Sub -section 1. There is hereby authorized and
y created the following positions in the Floodwall Department, and
�f the salary of each position, provided the amount of such salary is
not changed under any apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted, shall
UU be as follows:
Position Base Monthly Salary
Floodwall Superintendent, Head of Department $835.00
Floodwall Foreman 567.00
Floodwall Maintenance Men (Operators) (4 positions) 428.00
The Foreman shall be paid at the rate of $567.00 per month for
the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months
$577.00 per month and at the expiration of one year $587.00 per month,
such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager.
Maintenance Men shall be paid at the rate of $428.00 per month for
the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months
$438.00 per month; at the expiration of one year $448.00 per month;
at the expiration of two years $458.00 per month; and at the expiration
of three years $468.00 per month; such increases to be made upon
recommendation of the City Manager.
"Sun -section 2. There is hereby authorized and created the
following positions in the Sewage Disposal Department, and the salary
of each position, provided the amount of such salary is not changed under
any apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted, shall be as follows:

Chief Operator $567.00
Maintenance Man 498.00
Operators (3 positions) 428.00
The Chief Operator shall be paid at the rate of $567.00 per month
for the first six months .of employment; at the expiration of six
months $577.00 per month and at the expiration of one year $587.00
per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City
Manager.
The Maintenance Man shall be paid at the rate of $498.00 per month
for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months
$508.00 per month and at the expiration of one year $518.00 per month,
such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager.
Operators shall be paid at the rate of $428.00 per month for the
first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $438.00
per month; at the expiration of one year $448.00 per month; at the
expiration of two years $458.00 per month and at the expiration of
three years $468.00 per month; such increases to be made upon recommendation
of the City Manager.
The Sewage Disposal Department shall be under the management
and control of the Floodwall Superintendent, and the employees of the
Floodwall Department, at his direction, may be assigned to work in the
Sewage Disposal Department, and the employees of the Sewage Disposal
Department, at his direction, may be assigned to work in the Floodwall
Department, but any such employees so assigned shall keep and maintain
their civil service rights under the department to which they were originally
assigned".
SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be retroactively effective as of
January 1, 1969.
