HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 16, Page 841, No Resolution Number841 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) new 1969 STATION WAGON FOR USE IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, requested to advertise for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah, Kentucky of one (1) new 1969 station wagon having the following specifications: Four -door, medium sized station wagon 15" wheels 4 -ply heavy duty tires (No 2 -ply with 4 -ply rating) Power steering Heavy duty brakes Police package or kit, to be described in detail, and to include a heavy duty alternator, 55 ampere minimum, with dual pulley and belts Seat belts, with automatic rollers, for all seats V-8 Engine, minimum 290 cu. inch' Heavy duty automatic transmission Heavy duty shock absorbers Spare wheel and tire Two spotlights (one on each site) furnished by the City, to be installed by the successful bidder Dual sun visors Back-up lights Wiring in the overhead and through the windshiels post, for the red light on top of the vehicle, shall be installed at factory; metal reinforcement plate in overhead for support of red light. Color! Vehicle is to have black body, with white top and white front doors. Heater and defroster Standard equipment to be described dully Middle seat modification, split second seat (1/3-2/3) to obtain ambulance attendant's seat. Install new hinging apparatus and unholster both portions to match the interior trim of the vehicle Stretcher, folding rubber bottom, emergency, with 2 wheels and posts which fold for storage, with 2 post cups installed in vehicle to hold stretcher when in use. 842 Any necessary lock -down or holding devices needed to secure stretcher, both when in use and when stored, are to be installed. Tailgate plate, to reduce the gap between tailgate and bed of vehicle, to be installed Protector, metal screen, for driver's compartment, (above and behind front seat). Each bidder shall state in his bid the popular name and model upon which he bids, and if requested, will exhibit at the City Hall to the City Officials a similar car of the model bid upon with the equipment offered, and shall also state the approximate length of time required for delivery after a contract is awarded. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in the Paducah Sun -Democrat to be published not less than seven days nor more than twenty-one days before the date fixed for the opening of bids. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and best bidder, and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to any bidder until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase contract. SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
