HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 16, Page 766, Ordinance Number 68-10-128766 ; ORDINANCE NO. 68-10-128 AN ORDINANCE PROPOSING ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY LYING ADJACENT TO THE WEST CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, DEFINING ACCURATELY THE BOUNDARY OF THE TERRITORY PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED, AND DECLARING THE DESIRABILITY AND NECESSITY OF SUCH ANNEXATION BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. It is hereby proposed that certain land lying adjacent to the west corporate limits, more particularly described hereinafter, be annexed to the City of Paducah, and that said property so proposed to be annexed is accurately described as follows: Beginning at a point on the south property line of Exalt Street said point being 504 feet west of the southwest intersection of Exall Street and 46th Street and being the northwest corner of lot conveyed to E. F. Whittington and wife, by Deed Book 500, page 379 dated August 12, 1968; thence at an interior angle of 88 degrees in a southerly direction 200 feet; thence at an interior angle of 92 degrees in an easterly direction 105 feet; thence at an interior angle of 88 degrees in a northerly direction 200 feet to thp. south property line of Exall Street; thence in a northerly direction across Exall Street at right angles to the south property line 50 feet to the north property line of Exall Street; thence at right angles in a westerly direction and with the north property line of Exall Street to a point in the present city limits line 65 fleet east of 47th Street; thence with the present city limits line in a southerly direction 50.28 feet to the south property line of Exall Street; thence with the south property line of Exall Street in an Easterly direction 118.62 feet to the point of beginning. SECTION 2. It is hereby declared that extending the boundary of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, by annexing the -property described in Section 1 hereof is desirable and necessary. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be published in the Sun -Democrat, a newspaper in Paducah, Kentucky, as provided for and required by Section 424.130 of Kentucky Revised Statutes,and the extension of the city limits as herein proposed shall not become effective until the _ - adoption of an ordinance annexing the property described in Section I hereof, and such ordinance shall not be adopted until after publication of this ordinance as provided herein and until the expiration of a period of thirty days after the enactment of this ordinance. Notice is hereby given under the provisions of Section 81.110 of Kentucky Revised Statutes that one or more residents or freeholders of the herein territory proposed to be annexed may, within thirty days after the enactment of this ordinance, file a petition in the Circuit 767 Court of McCracken County, Kentucky, setting forth the reason why said territory, or any part of it, shall not be annexed.
