HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 16, Page 756, Ordinance Number 68-10-123ORDINANCE NO. 68-10-123 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 8-B OF THE "APPOINTIVE EMPLOYEES' CIVIL SERVICE ORDINANCE" WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON DECEMBER 2, 1947, AND AMENDED ON JULY 9, 1968 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Section 8-B of the "Appointive Employees' Civil Service Ordinance", which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on December 2, 1947, and amended on July 9, 1968, be, and the same is hereby amended and reordained so that said section as amended and reordained shall read as follows: "SECTION S -B. There is hereby authorized and created the following positions in the Public Works Department, and the salaries of each position, provided the amount of such salary is not changed under any apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted shall be as follows: Position Base Monthly Salary Director of Public Work $650.00 Assistant Director of Public Works 590.00 Foreman (3 positions) 490.00 Secretary 315.00 The Secretary shall be paid at the rate of $315.00 per month for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $325.00 per month; at the expiration of one year $335.00 per month; at the expiration of two years $345.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. 756 r- Base Hourly Rate Sewer Maintenance Men (6 positions) $2.33 Equipment Operator (6 positions) 2.53 Street Repairmen (6 positions) 2.23 Truck Drivers (8 positions) 2.13 Laborer (3 positions) 1.90 Chief Mechanic 2.63 guto Repairman 2.53 Mechanic Helper 2.33 Concrete Finisher (2 positions) 2.63 The Secretary shall be paid at the rate of $315.00 per month for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $325.00 per month; at the expiration of one year $335.00 per month; at the expiration of two years $345.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. 756 r- 757 Sewer Maintenance Men shall be paid at the rate of $2.33 per hour for the first six months of employment and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be $2.38 per hour, such increase to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The Equipment Operators shall be paid at the rate of $2.53 per hour for the first six months of employment and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be $2.58 per hour, such increase to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The Street Repairmen shall be paid at the rate of $2.23 per hour for the first six months of employment and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be $2.28 per hour, such increase to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The Truck Drivers shall be paid at the rate of $2.13 per hour for the first six months of employment and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be increased to $2.18 per hour, such increase to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. Laborers shall be paid at the rate of $1.90 per hour for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $1.95 per hour; at the expiration of one year $2.00 per hour, and at the expiration of two years $2.05 per hour, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The Chief Mechanic shall be paid at the rate of $2.63 per hour for the first six months of employment and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be increased to $2.68 per hour, such increase to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The Auto Repairman shall be paid at the rate of $2.53 per hour for the first six months of employment, and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be increased to $2.58 per hour, such increase to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The Mechanic Helper shall be paid at the rate of $2.33 per hour for the first fix months of employment and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be increased to $2.38 per hour, such increase to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The Concrete Finishers shall be paid at the rate of $2.63 per hour for the first six months of employment and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be increased to $2.68 per hour, such increase to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. 758 Refuse (Sanitary) Division Base Hourly Rate This Division shall be under the direction of the above mentioned Director of Public Works and the Assistant Director of Public Works. Collectors (22 positions) $1.90 Truck Drivers (12 positions) 2.13 Tire Repairman ( 1 position ) 2.33 Equipment Operator ( 1 position ) 2.53 Mechanic Helper ( 1 position ) 2.33 Collectors shall be paid at the rate of $1.90 per hour for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $1.95 per hour; at the expiration of one year $2.00 per hour, and at the expiration of two years $2.05 per hour; such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. Truck Drivers shall be paid at the rate of $2.13 per hour for the first six months of employment and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be increased to $2.18 per hour, such increase to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The Tire Repairman shall be paid at the rate of $2.33 per hour for the first six months of employment and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be increased to $2.38 per hour, such increase to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The Equipment Operator shall be paid at the rate of $2.53 per hour for the first six months of employment and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be increased to $2.58 per hour, such increase to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The Mechanic Helper shall be paid at the rate of $2.33 per hour for the first six months of employment and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be increased to $2.38 per hour, such increase to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed. SECTION 3.
