HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 16, Page 73, No Resolution Number73 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR A TRACTOR FOR USE BY THE PARKS, RECREATION AND CEMETERY DEPARTMENTS BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to advertise for bids for the sale to the Citv of Paducah, Kentucky, for one (1) new tractor for use by the Parks, Recreation and Cemetery Departments, having the following specifications: Gas Driven engine having approximately 30 H.P. Power take -off (standard) Hydraulic lift, with capacity to lift 500 to 1,000 pounds Four -speed transmission Four -ply tires for the front sizes 600-16 or 550-16 Mud grip tires for the back sizes 12-28 of 11-28 Low center of gravity having an approximate turn over angle of 65 degrees Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the purchase of the tractor he offers for sale, and also the amount of such purchase price to be allowed by accepting as trade-in one (1) 1951 Ford tractor, Serial No. SN$N389791 now in use by the Parks and Recreation Department. All bidders must include all applicable taxes, including but not limited to Kentucky Sales Tax. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in the Sun -Democrat not less than seven days nor more than twenty-one days before the opening of same. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager UP to the time fixed for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and best bidder and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to purchase same until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase contract. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
