HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 16, Page 726, Ordinance Number 68-9-110726/ ORDINANCE NO. 68-9-110 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE FINAL REPORT OF THE PADUCAH PLANNING COMMISSION RESPECTING THE REZONING OF PROPERTY ON THE EAST SIDE OF BRIDGE STREET BETWEEN HAYS AVENUE AND CLEMENTS STREET, AND AMENDING THE PADUCAH ZONING ORDINANCE -1961 SO AS TO EFFECT SUCH REZONING BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That a resolution adopted by the Paducah Planning Commission on September 4, 1968, entitled "A RESOLUTION CONSTITUTING THE FINAL REPORT OF THE PADUCAH PLANNING COMMISSION ON THE PROPOSED REZONING OF PROPERTY ON THE EAST SIDE OF BRIDGE STREET BETWEEN HAYS AVENUE AND CLEMENTS STREET", be approved as the final report of said Commission respecting the matters therein set forth. SECTION 2. That the zone classification change and the map amendments proposed in said resolution be, and the same hereby is, declared to be in agreement with the comprehensive plan of the City of Paducah. SECTION 3. That the zone classification_of.the following property be, and it is hereby, changed from R-3 Two -Family Residential Zone to B-1 Neighborhood Business Zone: Tract No. 1 Beginning at the point of intersection of the center line of Bridge Street with the center line of Hays:Avenue; thence in a northerly direction along and with the center line of Bridge Street 367.83 feet, more or less, to the point of intersection of the center line of Bridge Street with the center line of Ashbrook Avenue; thence along and with the center line of Ashbrook Avenue a distance of 173.5 feet, more or less, to the point of intersection of the center line of Ashbrook Avenue with the center line of a 10 foot alley; thence at right angles in an easterly direction along and with the center line of said alley a distance of 190.35 feet to a point in the center line of said alley; thence at right angles and in a southerly direction along and with the center line of said alley where same lies behind the property of Emma Hines a distance of 46 feet to a point in the center line of said alley; thence at right angles and in an easterly direction along and with the center line of said alley a distance of 46 feet to the point of intersection of the center line of said alley with the center line of Hays avenue; thence at right angles and in a southerly direction along and with the center line of Hays Avenue a distance of 250 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning. Tract No. 2 Beginning at a point in the center line of Bridge Street, which point is located a distance of 150 feet southwest of the point of intersection of the center line of Bridge Street with the west line of Clements Street; thence in a northerly direction along and with the present dividing line between the B-1 and 727 R-3 Zones a distance of 140 feet, more or less; thence at right angles and in an easterly direction a distance of 60 feet to a point, the northeast corner of the Trinity Methodist Church; thence at right angles in a southerly direction toward Bridge Street a distance of 30 feet, more or less, to a point, the northwest corner of Victor Taber; thence along and with the meanders of the north lines of Victor Taber and Cecil Holman a distance of 270 feet, more or less, to a point, the northeast corner of Cecil Holman, same being the southeast corner of C. L. Threatt and the northwest corner of W. E. Croley; thence at right angles along and with Cecil Holman's east line a distance of 228 feet, more or less, to the point of intersection of Cecil Holman's east line, if extended, with the center line of Bridge Street; thence in a northwesterly direction along and with the center line of Bridge Street 358 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning. SECTION 4. That if any section, paragraph or provision of this ordinance shall be found to be inoperative, ineffective or invalid for any cause, the deficiency or invalidity of such section, paragraph or provision shall not affect any other section, paragraph or provision hereof, it being the purpose and intent of this ordinance to make each and every section, paragraph and provision hereof separable from all other sections, paragraphs and provisions. SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
