HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 16, Page 701, No Resolution Number701 / A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR FURNISHING THE CITY OF PADUCAH WITH PARTS FOR REPAIR OF A 955K CATERPILLAR TRACTOR NO. 61H911 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to advertise for bids for furnishing the City of Paducah with parts for repair of a 955K Caterpillar Tractor No. 61H911, with said bids to be submitted at the lowest cash price per unit, including any and all applicable taxes, in accordance with the terms and specifications listed herein. F. rebuilt rollers (exchange) 2 each 5K9655 Top Roller shell 2 each W318 Rebuilt idler (exchange) Each bidder should state what allowance will be given, if any, for trade-in of used exchangable parts which are to be replaced. Each bidder must guarantee and be able to furnish immediate delivery of the parts. Each bidder must bid on each and every item and all incomplete bids will be rejected. Each bidder should also state and include in the bid the charge for labor to cut off old and weld on new sprocket rims. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in the Paducah Sub -Democrat to be published not less than seven days nor more than twenty-one days before the date fixed for the opening of bids. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and best bidder, and the Board shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to any bidder until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a 702 purchase contract. SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
