HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 16, Page 660, Ordinance Number 68-7-870 660 ORDINANCE NO. 68-7-87 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 7, 8A, 8B, 8D, 9, 10 AND 11 OF THE "APPOINTIVE EMPLOYEES' CIVIL SERVICE ORDINANCE" WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON DECEMBER 2, 1947, AND AMENDED ON DECEMBER 13, 1966, JANUARY 10, 1967 AND APRIL 23, 1968 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Sections 7, 8A, 8B, 8D, 9, 10 and 11 of the "Appointive Employees' Civil Service Ordinance", which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on December 2, 1947, and amended as stated in the title hereof, be, and they are hereby amended and reordained so that said sections as amended and reordained shall read ,e follows • as "SECTION 7. There is hereby created and authorized the following positions in the Department of Finance, and the salary of each position IS `_.J� i`i�•`G 5-c1 provided the amount of such salary is not changed under any apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted shall be as follows: Position Base Monthly Salary This department shall be under the direction and supervision of the City Treasurer, a non -civil service position which has here- tofore been created by separate ordinance Auditor $430.00 Bookkeeper 380.00 Senior Clerk (2 positions) 315.00 Clerk -Stenographer 315.00 Machine Operator 320.00 Clerk-tyoist (3 positions) 270.00 License Inspector 450.00 The License Inspector shall be paid at the rate of $450.00 per month for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $460.00 per month; at the expiration of one year $470.00 per month; at the expiration of two years $480.00 per month, and at the expiration of three years $490.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The Senior Clerks shall be paid at the rate of $315.00 per month for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $325.00 per month; at the expiration of one year $335.00 per month; and at the expiration of two years $345.00 per month, such increases 661 to be made upon recommendation of the city Manager. The Clerk -Stenographer shall be paid at the rate of $315.00 per month for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $325.00 per -month; at the expiration of one year $335.00 per month; and at the expiration of two years $345.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The Clerk -typist shall be paid at the rate of $270.00 per month for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $280.00 per month; at the expiration of one year $290.00 per month; at the expiration of two years $300.00 per month; and at the expiration of three years $310.00 per month; such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. ( "SECTION 8A There is hereby authorized and created the following .t positions in the Engineering Department, and the salary of each position, 'L provided the amount of such salary is not changed under any apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted shall be as follows: Position Base Monthly Salary City Engineer, Head of Department $740.00 Assistant City Engineer 605.00 Instrument Man 530.00 Draftsman 510.00 Rodman 415.00 Clerk Stenographer 315.00 Chainman 370.00 Clerk -typist 270.00 The Clerk -Stenographer shall be paid at the rate of $315.00 per month for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $325.00 per month; at the expiration of one year $335.00 per month; and at the expiration of two years $345.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The Chainman shall be paid at the rate of $370.00 per month for the first year of employment, at the expiration of one year the salary shall be increased to $380.00 per month, such increase to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The Clerk -typist shall be paid at the rate of $270.00 per month for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $280.00 per month; at the expiration of one year $290.00 per month; at the expiration of two years $300.00 per month, and at the expiration of 662 three years $310.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. , "SECTION 8B. There is hereby authorized and created the following L^?_j'. i.i-%; positions in the Public Works Department, heretofore known as the Street Department, and the salaries of each position, provided the amount of such salary is not changed under any apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted shall be as follows: Position Base Monthly Salary Director of Public Works $650.00 Assistant Director of Public Works 590.00 Foreman (3 positions) 490.00 Secretary 315.00 The Secretary shall be paid at the rate of $315.00 per month for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $325.00 per month; at the expiration of one year $335.00 per month; at the expiration of two years $345.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. Sewer Maintenance Men shall be paid at the rate of $2.33 per hour for the first six months of emplo yment and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be $2.38 per hour; such increase to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The Equipment Operator shall be paid at the rate of $2.53 per hour for the first six months of employment and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be $2.58 per hour, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The Truck Drivers shall be paid at the rate of $2.13 per hour for the first six months of employment and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be increased to $2.18 per hour, such increase to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. Laborers shall be paid at the rate of $1.90 per hour for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $1.95 per hour; at the expiration of one year $2.00 per hour, and at the expiration of two years $2.05 per hour, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The Chief Mechanic shall be paid at the rate of $2.63 per hour for the first six months of employment and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be increased to $2.68 per hour, such increase to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The Auto Repairman shall be paid at the rate of $2.53 per hour for the first six months of employment, and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be increased to $2.58 per hour, such increase to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The Mechanic Helper shall be paid at the rate of $2.33 per hour for the first six months of employment and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be increased to $2.38 per hour, such increase to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The Concrete Finishers shall be paid at the rate of $2.63 per hour for the first six months of employment and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be increased to $2.68 per hour, such increase to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. Refuse (Sanitary) Division Base Hourly Ra This Division shall be under the direction of the above mentioned Director of Public Works and the Assistant Director of Public Works. Collectors (22 positions) $1.90 Truck Drivers (11 positions) 2.13 Tire Repairman ( 1 position) 2.33 Equipment Operator ( 1 position) 2.53 Mechanic Helper (1 position) 2.33 Collectors shall be paid at the rate of $1.90 per hour for the first six months of employment' at the expiration of six months $1.95 per hour; at the expiration of one year $2.00 per hour, and at the expiration of two years $2.05 per hour; such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. Truck Drivers shall be paid at the rate of $2.13 per hour for the first six months of employment and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be increased to $2.18 per hour, such increase to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. There is hereby authorized and created the following positions in the Floodwall Department, and the salary of each position, provided the amount of such salary is not changed under any apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted, shall be as follows: Position 664 Base Monthly Salary Floodwalk Superintendent, Head of Department $815.00 Floodwall Foreman 550.00 Floodwall Maintenance Men (Operators) (4 positions) 409.00 The Foreman shall be paid at the rate of $550.00 per month for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $560.00 per month and at the expiration of one year $570.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. Maintenance Men shall be paid at the rate of $409.00 per month for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $419.00 per month; at the expiration of one year $429.00 per month; at the expiration of two years $439.00 per month; and at the expiration 665 f of three years $449.00 per month; such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. "Sub -Section 2. There is hereby authorized and created the following positions in the Sewage Disposal Department, and the salary of each position, provided the amount of such salary is not changed under any apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted, shall be as follows:' Position Chief Operator Base Monthly Salary $550.00 Maintenance Man 479.00 Operators (3 positions) 409.00 The Chief Operator shall be paid at the rate of $550.00 per month for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $560.00 per month and at the expiration of one year $570.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The Maintenance Man shall be paid at the rate of $479.00 per month for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $489.00 per month and at the expiration of one year $499.00•per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. Operators shall be paid at the rate of $409.00 per month for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $419.00 per month; at the expiration of one year $429.00 per month; at the expiration of two years $439.00 per month and at the expiration of three years $449.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendat of the City Manager. The Sewage Disposal Department shall be under the management and control of the Floodwall Superintendent, and the employees of the Floodwall Department, at his direction, may be assigned to work in the Sewage Disposal Department, and the employees of the Sewage Disposal Department, at his direction, may be assigned to work in the Floodwall Department, but any of such employees so assigned shall keep and main- tain their civil service rights under rhe department to which they were originally assigned. "SECTION 9. The No. 1 Maintenance Man shall be paid at the rate of $2.53 per hour for the first six months of employment and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be increased to $2.58 per hour, such increase to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The No. 2 Maintenance Man shall be paid at the rate of $2.23 per hour for the first six months of employment and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be $2.28 per hour, such increase to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. Maintenance Helpers shall be paid at the rate of $2.13 per hour for the first six months of employment and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be increased to $2.18 pyr hour, such increase to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The Janitor shall be paid at the rate of $1.90 per hour for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $1.95 per hour; at the expiration of one year $2.00 per hour and at the expiration of two years $2.05 per hour, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. 667 SL' Position Base Monthly Salary Stenographer - Record Reem $315.00 Meter Maid (2%positions) 315.00 The Stenorgapher - Record Room shall be paid at the rate of $315.00 per month for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $325.00 per month; at the expiration of one year $335.00 per month and at the expiration of two years $345.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. Meter Maids shall be paid at the rate of $315.00 per month for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $325.00 per month; at the expiration of one year $335.00 per month and at the expiration of two years $345.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. There is hereby authorized and created the following positions in the Parks, Playground and Recreation Department, and the � salary of each position provided the amount of such salary is not changed under any apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted, shall be as follows: Assistant Janitors shall be paid at the rate of $1.60 per hour for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $1.65 per hour; at the expiration of one year $1.70 per hour and at the expiration of two years $1.75 per hour, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. Clerk -typist No. 1 shall be paid at the rate of $315.00 per month for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $325.00 per month; at the expiration of one year $335.00 per month and at the expiration of two years $345.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. SECTION 2.All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed. SECTION 3.
