CIVIL SERVICE FIRE DEPARTMENT SWITCHBOARD OPERATOR, PRESCRIBING THE
DUTIES OF SAID POSITION AND FIXING THE RATE OF PAY THEREOF
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That there is hereby created and established the
position of Non -Civil Service Fire Department Switchboard Operator
for the City of Paducah, Kentucky.
SECTION 2. The duties of each person holding the position
established in Section 1 hereof shall be to operate the switchboard
fire alarm equipment at Central Fire Station in the aforesaid City
and all other necessary services and functions in connection therewith.
SECTION 3. Each person holding the position of Non -Civil Service
Fire Department Switchboard Operator shall be under the -supervision
and direction of the Chief of the Fire Department of the aforesaid City.
SECTION 4. Any person employed as a Non -Civil Service Fire
Department Switchboard Operator shall not thereby become a member
of the Fire Department of the City of Paducah; shall not be entitled
to any civil service benefits under any law or ordinance; and shall
be subject to removal from said position at any time by the Board
Commissioners of said City.
SECTION 5. Any person occupying the position of Non -Civil Service
Fire Department Switchboard Operator shall be paid at the rate of $320.00 6 77
per.month for the first six months of employment, at the expiration of
six months $330.00 per month, at the expiration of one year $340.00
per month and at the expiration of two years $350.00 per month, such
increases to be made only upon recommendation of the City Manager.
SECTION 6. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
