HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 16, Page 646, No Resolution Number646 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR ONE (1) REFUSE PACKER AND TRUCK FOR USE IN THE REFUSE DIVISION OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CON- DITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF MW PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, re- quested to advertise for bids for the purchase of one (1) 16 cubic yard refuse packer truck approximately equal in specifications to the Garwood Model LP 716, to be mounted on truck having the following specifications: Manufacturers G. V. rating, 25,000 pound minimum Tilt cab with reinforced frame Rear of cab to rear wheels to be 108 inch minimum Motor: 182 H.P. Minimum gross Transmission: 5 speed Clutch: Heavy duty Equipped with mechanical tachometer R.P.M. Governor Heavy duty increased capacity cooling system 45 ampere 12 volt alternator Axles: 18,500 pound single speed rear. 9,000 Front Springs: Heavy duty rear springs, 10,000 pound, minimum at ground Heavy duty front springs, 4,500 pound, minimum at ground Brakes: Heavy duty vacuum over hydraulic Dual electric windshield wipers Front bumper equipped with tow hooks Directional signals front and rear, equipped with hazard switch West coast type rear view mirrors, one each side Fresh air type heater, equipped with defrosters Tires: Minimum of 10.00 x 20 - 12 ply - 100 level tires and tubes Mounted spare Color: Omaha orange and black as designated by using agency Each bidder shall furnish a complete set of factory speci- fications covering the packer bid upon by him; shall include with his bid a complete set of factory specifications covering the pertinent items in the foregoing specifications and shall furnish two copies of the Operation and Maintenance Manuals on the truck and packer. 647 Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the purchase of the equipment he offers for sale and also the amount of such purchase price to be allowed by accepting as trade-in one (1) 1952 R180 International cab and chassis with 12 cubis yard Leach Packer body. Each bidder must include or refer to all applicable taxes in his bid. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in the Sun Democrat to be published not less than seven days nor more than twenty-one days before the date fixed for the opening of bids. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be re- ceived after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and best bidder, and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to any bidder until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase contract.
