HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 16, Page 572, Ordinance Number 68-4-515722 ORDINANCE NO. 68-4-51 AN ORDINANCE PROPOSING ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY LYING ADJACENT TO THE SOUTHWEST CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, DEFINING ACCURATELY THE BOUNDARY OF THE TERRITORY PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED, AND DECLARING THE DESIRABILITY AND NECESSITY OF SUCH ANNEXATION BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. It is hereby proposed that certain land lying adjacent to the southwest corporate limits, more particularly described hereinafter, be annexed to the City of Paducah, and that said property so proposed to be annexed is accurately described as follows: TRACT NO. 1 Beginning at a point in the southerly right-of-way line of U.S. 62 known as Blandville Road and the present city limi•Es; thence along the present city limits south 4 degrees 33 minutes east 537.8 feet; thence along the present city limits south 73 degrees 59 minutes east 561 feet; thence along the present city limits south 5 degrees 10 minutes 440 feet to the north line of Jonquilawn Subdivision recorded in Plat Book "G", page 20, McCracken County Court Clerk's office; thence with the north line of Jonquilawn Subdivision north 73 degrees 58 minutes west 569.74 feet to a stone; thence south 3 degrees 23 minutes east with the west line of Jonquilawn Subdivision 1252.55 feet to a stone, corner to Horton in his north line; thence with Horton's north Line north 78 degrees 52 minutes west 1383.43 feet to the north line of the Friendship Church Road; thence with the north line of Friendship Church Road in a westerly direction 1429.96 feet as shown by plat recorded in Plat Book "G", page 32, McCracken County Court Clerk's office to a point in the line dividing properties formerly owned by Ingram and Stem; thence continuing with the north line of the Friendship Church Road 400 feet more or less to the dividing line between Stem and Smithson; thence in a northerly direction 220 feet more or less to the south line of U.S.62 or Blandville Road; thence in an easterly direction with the south property line of U. S. Highway 62 or Blandville Road 1480 feet more or Less to Wurth's west property line; thence along Wurth's west property line south 21 degrees 27 minutes east 347.77 feet; thence along the south property line of Wurth and Ingram north 68 degrees 33 minutes east 457.12 feet; thence along Ingram's west property line south 21 degrees 27 minutes east 179.5 feet; thence along Ingram's south property line north 64 degrees 50 minutes east 761.46 feet; thence north 3 degrees 49 minutes east along Ingram's east property line 38.49 feet; thence along Ingram's east property line norty 7 degrees 28 minutes west 540.1 feet to the south property line of U. S. Highway 62 or Blandville Road; thence along the south property line of U. S. Highway 62 or Blandville Road north 64 degrees 54 minutes east 554.22 feet to the point of beginning. 573 TRACT NO. 2 Beginning at a point on the property line dividing the property of Florence White and Paducah Junior College said point being 220 feet south from the south property line of U.S. 62 known as Blandville Road; thence with said property line south 25 degrees 40 minutes east 956.5 feet more or less to Smith's north property line; thence with Smith's north property line south 68 degrees 45 minutes west 746.6 feet more or less; thence with Smith's west property line south 1 degree 30 minutes east 66 feet more or less to the present city limits; thence with the present city limits north 25 degrees 40 minutes west 991 feet to a point 220 feet from U. S. 62 or Blandville Road; thence east with the present city limits 772 feet more or less to the point of beginning. SECTION 2. It is hereby declared that extending the boundary of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, by annexing the property described in Section 1 hereof is desirable and necessary. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be published in the Sun -Democrat, a newspaper in Paducah, Kentucky, as provided for and required by Section 424.130 of Kentucky Revised Statutes, and the extension of the City Limits as herein proposed shall not become effective until the adoption of an ordinance annexing the property described in Section 1 hereof, and such ordinance shall not be adopted until after publication of this ordinance as provided herein and until the expiration of a period of thirty days after the enactment of this ordinance. Notice is hereby given under the provisions of Section 81.110 of Kentucky Revised Statutes that one or more residents or freeholders of the herein territory proposed to be annexed may, within thirty days after the enactment of this ordinance, file a petition in the Circuit Court of McCracken County, Kentucky, setting forth the reason why said territory, or any part of it, shall not be annexed.
