A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE DIRECTOR OF THE PARKS AND
RECREATION DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, TO FILE AN APPLICATION FOR
A PROJECT GRANT UNDER TITLE III OF THE OLDER AMERICANS ACT, AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO MAKE ALL REQUIRED ASSURANCES OF COMPLIANCE
WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH, EDUCATION AND WELFARE REGULATIONS UNDER
TITLE VI OF THE CIVIL RIGHTS ACT OF 1964
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That an application be filed on behalf of the City
of Paducah, Kentucky, for a project grant under Title III of the Older
Americans Act for a total three year grant of $26,655.00 for development
and operation of a Paducah Senior Citizens Center to be located in
Pierce E. Lackey Court, and that the Director of the Parks and
Recreation Department of the City of Paducah is hereby authorized
and directed to prepare, execute and file such application and to
provide all information and documents as may be required.
SECTION 2. That the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized and
directed to make any necessary assurances of the City's compliance with
the Department of Health, Education and Welfare regulations under
Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
SECTION 3. The application and assurances authorized herein
shall be processed to and through the Kentucky Commission on Aging,
a recipient of Federal financial assistance from the said Department.
SECTION 4. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
