HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 16, Page 435, Ordinance Number 68-1-1435/ ORDINANCE NO. 68-1-1 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 12.1 AND SECTION 12.2 OF THE MANUAL OF PROCEDURE OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Section 12.1 and Section 12.2 of the Manual of Procedure of the Police Department of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, which Manual was adopted May 23, 1967 by an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING, BY REFERENCE, THE MANUAL OF PROCEDURE OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY" be, and the same are hereby, amended to read as follows: "12.1 Designation of Shifts. The twenty-four (24) hour work day of the Police Department shall be divided into three eight (8) hour shifts. The hours covered by each of the shifts shall be as follows: A. Shift No. I (Morning Shift) - 4:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. B. Shift No. II (Afternoon Shift) - 13:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. C. Shift No. III (Night Shift) - 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. "12.2 Shift Assignment. A. The Patrol Division personnel of the Police Department shall work the shift of their individual choice - each man choosing his shift according to his service (seniority) with the Department. Each shift's complement shall be filled by starting with the officer who holds the longest seniority and who requests duty on each respective shift. B. All officers will be compelled to complete a tour of duty of at least six (6) months in length before being permitted to voluntarily change shifts. SECTION 2.
