HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 16, Page 420, No Resolution Number420 i A RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING FRIDAY, DECEMBER 29, A DAY OF MOURNING WHEREAS it is fitting and proper that a grateful community should honor those who have cast high honor on its name; and WHEREAS Joe Clifton, who was nurtured to maturity in our midst exhibited high qualities of leadership, sportsmanship, courage and determination, rising to the rank of Rear Admiral in the United States Na vy after brilliantly serving his City, his State and his Country; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: That Friday, December 29, 1967, be proclaimed a day of mourning for Joe Clifton, to the end that his memory may be honored and his laudable qualities may furnish inspiration to young and old That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption. .Mayor Passed by the Board of Commissioners December 27, 1967 Recorded by Sarah Thurman, City Clerk, December 27, 1967.
