HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 16, Page 358, No Resolution Number358 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR PIPE AND ACCESSORIES TO BE USED IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF A SANITARY SEWER EXTENSION BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to advertise for bids for pipe and accessories to be used in the construction of a sanitary sewer extension, and in so advertising he shall use substantially the following form: "N O T I C E "Sealed bids will be received at the office of the City Manager, City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky until 10:00 a.m., November 24, 1967, for sale to the City of sewer pipe in the following approximate quantities: 8" VCP 1800.0 L.F. 6" VCP 325.0 L.F. 6 on 8 Ys 17.0 pcs. 6" curves 17.0 pcs. 6" clay stoppers 17.0 pcs. Pipe and fittings to be extra strength clay sewer pipe of the best quality unglazed vitrified clay conforming to the requirements of ASTM Designation C200, "Extra Strength Clay Pipe". Jointing material for the pipe shall be manufactured of polyvinylchloride (PVC) meeting the requirements of ASTM Designation C 425, Type II. Immediate delivery f.o.n. job site. PUBLISH: Wednesday, November 15, 1967 One time" SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in the Paducah Sun -Democrat as provided for by law. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the norice for the opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a 359 contract to the lowest and best bidder, and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to purchase said material until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase contract. SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
