OF SARAH SMITH CAMPBELL AND PROCLAIMING HER PADUCAH'S BETSY ROSS
WHEREAS Sarah.Smith Campbell during her lifetime
exhibited -high qualities of civic leadership in Paducah and
was loved.and admired by the entire community; and
WHEREAS she devoted her rare artistic and literary
talents to the service of the city in generous measure; and
WHEREAS it was she who conceived and designed the official
flag of the city;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Sarah Smith Campbell be and she is
hereby designated and proclaimed Paducah's Betsy Ross.
SECTION 2. That this resolution shall be in full force
and effect.from.and.after its adoption.
