HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 16, Page 288, No Resolution Number288 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) NEW 1968 PANEL TRUCK FOR USE IN THE POLICE 'DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, requested to advertise for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah, Kentucky, of one (1) new 1968 panel truck for use in the Police Departmenh,. having the following specifications: Minimum wheel base 119 inches 15 inch wheels Power steering` Heavy duty brakes Police package to be described in detail, and to include heavy duty generator, or alternator, 55 ampere minimum, with dual pully and belt Seat belts (2) with automatic rollers for front seat Minimum 192 H.P. engine Color - solid white Automatic transmission Heater & defroster Standard equipment to be described fully Spot light furnished by the City, to be installed by successful bidder , Dual sun visors Back-up lights Spare tire and wheel Dual front seats Rear bumper 0.10 Truck style side mirrors The wiring in the overhead and through the windshield post for the red light on top of vehicle shall be installed at factory Metal reinforcement plate in overhead for red light. Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the purchase of the vehicle specified above, and also the amount of such purchase price to be allowed by accepting as trade-in one (1) 1965 Chevrolet C1405 Panel Truck 014558200554, less any sirens, radio and police lights. 289 The successful bidder will be'required to make delivery sometime between January 1 and January 30, 1968. Each bidder shall state in his bid the popular name and model upon which he bids, and if requested, will exhibit at the City Hall to the City Officials a similar truck of the model bid upon with the equipment offered. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in the Paducah Sun -Democrat to be published not less than seven days nor more than twenty-one days before the -date fixed for the opening of bids. All bids shall .be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board.of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and best bidder, and the Board of Com- missioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids, and the City shall not become legally obligated to any bidder until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a.purchase contract. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
