HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 16, Page 228, No Ordinance Number228 I'll, AN ORDINANCE PROPOSING ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY LYING ADJACENT TO THE NORTHWEST CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, DEFINING ACCURATELY THE BOUNDARY OF THE TERRITORY PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED, AND DECLARING THE DESIRABILITY AND NECESSITY OF SUCH ANNEXATION BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. It is hereby proposed that certain land lying adjacent to the northwest corporate limits, more particularly described hereinafter, be annexed to the City of Paducah, and that said property so proposed to be annexed is accurately described as follows: Beginning at a point on the present city limits line where the northeast line of Abell and Washburn property as shown by plat recorded in Plat Book "G", page 280 in McCracken County Court Clerk's office, intersects the western property line of Primrose Place, being shown as Lot 12 on said plat; thence in a northwesterly direction with said Abell and Washburn line 470.36 feet to the southerly property line of Phillips Ave.; thence at an interior angle of 110 degrees 21 minutes 14 seconds, in a southwesterly direction with Phillips Ave., 200.36 feet; thence at an interior angle of 89 degrees 59 minutes 03 seconds, in an easterly direction, 32 feet; thence at an interior angle of 176 degrees 08 minutes continuing in an easterly direction 127.0 feet; thence at an interior angle of 170 degrees 23 minutes, continuing in an easterly direction, 130 feet; thence at an interior angle of 173 degrees 36 minutes, continuing in an easterly direction and with the present city limits line, 271.0 feet to the west property line of Primrose Place; thence at an interior angle of 86 degrees 52 minutes 44 seconds, in a northerly direction with the west line of Primrose Place and the present city limits line, 250.21 feet; thence at an interior angle of 179 degrees 06 minutes 53 seconds, continuing in a northerly direction with the west line of Primrose Place and with the present city limits line, 2.72 feet to the point of beginning. SECTION 2. It is hereby declared that extending the boundary of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, by annexing the property described in Section 1 hereof is desirable and necessary. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be published in the Sun -Democrat, a newspaper in Paducah, Kentucky, as provided for and required by Section 424.130 of Kentucky Revised Statutes, and the extension of the City Limits as herein proposed shall not become effective until the adoption of an ordinance annexing the property described in Section 1 hereof, and such ordinance shall not be adopted until after publication of this ordinance as provided herein and until the expiration of a period of thirty days after the enactment of this ordinance. Notice is hereby given under the provisions of Section 81.110 of Kentucky Revised Statutes that one or more residents or freeholders of the herein territory proposed to be annexed may, within thirty days 229 after the enactment of this ordinance, file a petition in the Circuit Court of McCracken County, Kentucky, setting forth the reason why said territory, or any part of it, shall not be annexed. SECTION 4.
