HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 16, Page 207, No Ordinance Number207 k AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF REED CRUSHED STONE COMPANY INC FOR THE PURCHASE OF LIMESTONE TO BE USED IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF A PARKING LOT ON THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF KENTUCKY AVENUE AND THIRD STREET AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR SUCH PURCHASE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah, Kentucky, accept the bid of Reed Crushed Stone Company, Inc. for the purchase of limestone to be used in the construction of a portion of a parking lot on the southwest corner of Kentucky Avenue and 3rd Street under the following terms and conditions: The limestone so furnished shall be delivered f.o.b. the con- struction site, and shall be delivered as ordered, by collect telephone call, in one hundred ton lots or more within twenty-four hours after notification, and the price per ton shall be $1.80. All materials delivered will be according to Kentucky State Highway specifications for dense graded limestone. All material delivered must be certified from some accurate scales in or near the City of Paducah at the expense of the Seller. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into and execute a contract for the purchase of said limestone after first obtaining from Reed Crushed Stone Company, Inc. a performance bond in the sum ,of $1,000 guaranteeing specifications and delivery.. It is estimated that the cost of this contract shall be based upon delivery of approximately 720 tons of dense graded limestone and a total cost of approximately $1,300.00. SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be introduced and remain on file for at least one (1) week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage, and if adopted shall be in full force and effect ten (10) days thereafter.
