HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 16, Page 201, No Ordinance Number201 L- AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY BY ANNEXING CERTAIN PROPERTY LYING ADJACENT TO THE NORTHWEST CORPORATE LIMITS OF SAID CITY, AND DEFINING ACCURATELY THE BOUNDARY OF SAID PROPERTY TO BE INCLUDED WITHIN SAID CORPORATE LIMITS WHEREAS, under an ordinance adopted May 23, 1967, the City of Paducah, Kentucky, by and through its Board of Commissioners, proposed to extend the boundary of the City by annexing certain property lying adjacent to the northwest corporate limits of same, which property is hereinafter more particularly described, and WHEREAS, said ordinance proposing such annexation and declaring the desirability and necessity of same has been published in the Sun Democrat, a newspaper published and distributed in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, as provided and required by Section 424.130 of Kentucky Revised Statutes, and WHEREAS, a period of more than thirty (30) days has elapsed since the enactment of said ordinance, and WHEREAS, no petition or complaint has been filed in the McCracken Circuit Court protesting such extension of the corporate limits of said City. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the hereinafter described property lying adjacent to the northwest corporate limits of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be annexed to said City, the same being more particularly described as follows: Beginnirig at a point in the present city limits line said point being in the northeast corner of the intersection of Phillips Avenue and Lester Avenue'; thence in a northerly direc- tion and with the east line of Lister Avenue 239.0 feet; thence easterly parallel with Phillips Avenue 750 feet more or less to the west line of property owned by William E. Roetteis, Deed Book 436, page 387, July 26, 1962; thence northerly and with Roetteis west line 20.3 feet more or -less to Roetteis' northwest corner and the southwest corner of the Hazel Paxton property; thence in an easterly direction with the dividing line between Roetteis and Paxton, 100 feet to the present city limits line; thence southerly with the present city limits line 259.3 feet to the north line of'Phillips Avenue; thence westerly with the present city limits line and the north line of Phillips Avenue 850 feet more or less to the point of beginning. - SECTION 2.
