HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 16, Page 183, No Ordinance Number183 P AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF THREE RIVERS ROCK COMPANY FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF LIMESTONE, KENTUCKY STATE HIGHWAY SPECIFICATIONS, FOR USE BY THE CITY DURING 1967, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY -MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AND EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF SAME; AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH SAID PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the bid of Three Rivers Rock Company for the sale to the City of No. 7, No. 8, No. 9 and No. 11 limestone, Kentucky State Highway Specifications, required by the City during the year 1967, (approximately 1,800 tons) be accepted, and that the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to enter into and execute a contract for the purchase, upon the order of the City, of all such limestone to be used during the year 1967, such contract to provide for the price of $1.90 per ton. The limestone is to be delivered to any destination in the city limits of the City as ordered, by collect telephone call by the Director of Public works, in one hundred ton lots or more, and delivery to begin within twenty-four (24) hours after notification and continue until the required amount has been delivered. The Seller may be required to furnish representative samples of any and all the items and all weights of delivered limestone must be certified at some accurate scales at or near the City of Paducah at the expense of the Seller. The Seller shall guarantee against advance in the market price, and guarantee reduction in the event of a decrease in the market price. The Seller shall post a performance bond in the sum of $1,000.00 guaranteeing specifications and delivery. SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be introduced at a meeting of the Board of Commissioners and remain on file for at least one (1) week for publi inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final pass age, and if adopted shall be in full force and effect ten dayd thereafter.
