HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 16, Page 154, No Ordinance Number154 � A AN ORDINANCE CREATING AN ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON AGING FOR THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND PRESCRIBING THE MEMBERSHIP, TERMS OF OFFICE AND DUTIES OF SUCH COMMITTEE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. There is hereby created and established an "Advisory Committee on Aging" for the City of Paducah, Kentucky, con- sisting of twelve (12) members to be appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the Board of Commissioners of said City, for terms of two (2) years, except the first appointments shall be six (members) for a term of one (1) year, and six (members) for a term of two (2) years. The members of said Committee shall serve without compensation, shall serve until their successors are appointed, and any member may be removed at any time of a majority vote of the Board of Commissioners. SECTION 2. The duties and :-unctions of said Advisory Committee on Aging shall be to study, investigate and recommend plans and programs for improving and promoting the welfare of senior citizens and the development of services to meet the special needs of such persons. SECTION 3. The Advisory Committee on Aging shall not incur any indebtedness to be paid by the City of Paducah, and the City shall not be responsible for any debts incurred by said Committee. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption. Mayor Passed by the Board of Commissioners May 16, 1967 Recorded by Sarah Thurman, City Clerk, May 16, 1967.
