HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 16, Page 131, No Ordinance Number131, AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CREATION OF A DEPARTMENT OF FISCAL AFFAIRS, AND PROVIDING FOR THE POSITION OF A DIRECTOR THEREOF BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. There is hereby created a Department of Fiscal Affairs for the City of Paducah, Kentucky which department shall have all the authority and responsibility of the present office of the City Assessor and Treasurer's Office (.also known as Department of Finance). The department shall have the responsibility for all the financial operations of the City and such other duties, functions and responsibilities as may lgter be delegated by the Board of Commissioners or by the City Manager. SECTION 2. There is hereby created the position of Director of Fiscal Affairs, who shall be the head of such department. The Director shall be appointed by the Board of Commissioners of the City and shall be under the direction of and be responsible to the City Manager. The salary of said Director shall be such as will be established by ordi- nance adopted by the Board of Commissioners. SECTION 3. Said Department will absorb all of the functions and �'7. personnal of the present office of the City Assessor and Treasurer's ;- ��,I Office (also known as Department of Financej, but such position so absorbed will remain identically the same as to the status, duties and rates of pay. The Director of Fiscal Affairs will also serve as Senior I Treasurer and Senior Finance Director and is authorized to carry out all of the duties prescribed to the position of City Treasurer (also known as Finance Director. The City Wreasurer (also known as Finance Director) shall work under the direction of and be responsible to the Director of Fiscal Affairs. SECTION 4. That if any section, paragraph, or provision of this ordinance shall be found to be inoperative, ineffective or invalid for any cause, the deficiency or invalidity of such section, paragraph or provision, shall not affect any other section, paragraph or provision thereof, it being the purpose and intent of this ordinance to make each and every section, paragraph and provision thereof severable from all other sections, paragraphs and provisions.
