HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 16, Page 124, No Ordinance Number12V T J AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY BY ANNEXING CERTAIN PROPERTY LYINO ADJACENT TO THE NORTH CORPORATE LIMITS OF SAID CITY, AND DEFINING ACCURATELY THE BOUNDARY OF SAID PROPERTY TO BE INCLUDED WITHIN SAID CORPORATE LIMITS WHEREAS, under an ordinance adopted March 28, 1967, the City of Paducah, Kentucky, by and through its Board of Commissioners, proposed to extend the boundary of the City by annexing certain property lying adjacent to the north corporate limits of same, which property is hereinafter more particularly described, and WHEREAS, said ordinance proposing such annexation and declaring the desirability and necessity of same has been published in the Sun Democrat, a newspaper published and distributed in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, as provided and required by Section 424.130 of Kentucky Revised Statutes, and WHEREAS, a period of more than thirty (30) days has elapsed since the enactment of said ordinance, and WHEREAS, no petition or complaint has been filed in the McCracken Circuit Court protesting such extension of the corporate limits of said City. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSLONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the hereinafter described property lying adjacent to the north corporate limits of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be annexed to said City, the same being more particularly described as follows: Beginnine at a point in the present city limits line where the west line of a 36 foot lane entrance into Nelson Park inter- sects the north line of the Hinkleville Road (US 60); thence in a northerly direction and with said city limits line and the west line of said 36 foot lane, 1901 feet more or less to the south line of Nelson Park; thence in a westerly direction with the city limits line and with the south line of Nelson Park a distance of 1399 feet more or less to the southwest corner of Nelson Park and the northwest corner of property owned by S. C. Hobbs and A. A. LaFont; thence in a southwesterly direction with Hobbs and LaFont's west line 1224 feet more or less to an angle in said west line; thence in a southerly direction and continuing with Hobbs and LaFont's west line 13E,1 feet more or less to the present city limits line in the north line of the Hinkleville Road; thence in an easterly direction with the city limits line and the north line of the Hinkleville Road 1703 feet more or less to the point of beginning. SECTION 2.
