HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 16, Page 1160, No Resolution NumberA RESOLUTION REQUESTING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR CONCRETE PIPE AND ACCESSORIES FOR USE IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF A STORM SEWER BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to advertise for bids for the following concrete pipe and accessories to be used in the construction ofa storm sewer: 556 Lin. Ft. of 18" reinforced concrete pipe, Class III, with rubber joints in the following lengths 1 pc. 4' 2 pcs. 6' 72 pcs. 7h' 2 pieces 18" x 12" wyes of reinforced concrete pipe Class III with rubber joints 1 12' reinforced concrete pipe bend, Class III with rubber joint. All bids must state the time required for delivery, and include any available discounts and all applicable taxes. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in the Paducah Sun -Democrat as provided for by law. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and best bidder, and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to purchase said material until the adoption of an ordinance auth- orizing the execution of a purchase contract. SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
