HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 16, Page 113, No Resolution Number113 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE SALE TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, OF ONE (1) NE'.'l COMPACT MOTOR VEHICLE, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager he, and he is hereby, authorized and requested to advertise for bids for one (1) new compact motor vehicle having the following specifications: 6 Cylinder Water Cooled Engine 2 Doors 1 spare tire and wheel 1 bumper jack and tire or land - lug tool Turn signals Back-up lights Removable oil filter Standard transmission Fresh Air heater and defroster units Color - off white (Color Code - M) Wheel Rase 106 inches (Tfiinimum) Horse power 115 (Minimum) Dual sun visors No trade-in Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for such vehicle, and shall fully describe the equipment he offers for sale. He shall furnish information as to all applicable guarantees, and shall state the approximate length of time required for delivery after the execution of a purchase contract. All prices quoted shall include or refer to any and all applicable taxes. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in the Sun -Democrat to be published not less than seven (7) days nor more than twenty-one (21) days before the date .fixed for the opening of bids. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and hest bidder, and said Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to any bidder until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase contract.
