HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 16, Page 1086, Ordinance Number 69-8-2401086 / ORDINANCE NO. 69-8-240 AN ORDINANCE REZONING PROPERTY ON TENNESSEE STREET BETWEEN 27th AND 28TH STREETS IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, FROM R-2 RESIDENTIAL ZONE TO A B-4 COMMERCIAL BUSINESS ZONE WHEREAS, on August 20, 1969, the Paducah Planning Commission held a hearing on the application for a zoning map change of the hereinafter described property from an R-2 zone to a B-4 zone, and WHEREAS, after due consideration the Planning Commission denied the application and reported its findings, and WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah has been asked to consider the application, override the Planning Commission and approve the application, and WHEREAS, the Board has reviewed the application and the evidence and has otherwise been sufficiently advised, and WHEREAS, the Board finds that there have been major changes of an economic, physical or social nature within the area involved which were not anticipated in the community's comprehensive plan and which have substantially altered the basic character of the area, or that the original zoning classification given to the property was improper, and that for sometime prior to the zoning of this parcel it was and has been used as commercial business property, and that a B-4 Commercial Business Zone classification would be proper. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the Paducah Zoning Ordinance -1961 be amended to change the zoning map and zoning classification of the following described property from an R-2 zone to a B-4 Zone: Beginning at the intersection of the center line of 28th Street and Tennessee Street, said beginning point being the northeast corner of the existing B-3 Zone; thence in an easterly direction and along the center line of Tennessee Street a distance of 330.0 feet to a point; thence with an interior angle of 90 degrees 00 minutes and in a northerly direction a distance of 207.75 feet to a point in the center line of a 19.5 foot public alley; thence with an interior angle of 90 degrees 00 minutes and in a westerly direction and along the center line of said 19.5 foot public alley a distance of 330 feet to a point in the center line of 28th Street; thence with an interior angle of 90 degrees 00 minutes and in a southerly direction and along the center line of 28th Street a distance of 207.75 feet to the point of beginning. w SECTION 2.
