HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 16, Page 1027, No Resolution Number1P A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF THE CITY'S INTEREST IN PROPERTY ON JEFFERSON STREET BETWEEN FIRST AND SECOND STREETS, FORMERLY KNOWN AS THE INTERNATIONAL SHOE COMPANY PROPERTY, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH SALE MAY BE MADE WHEREAS, on June 10, 1969, all litigation regarding the city's purchase of the International Shoe Company property on Jefferson Street between First and Second Streets was finalized, and WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, finds that such property is surplus to the needs of the City and should be disposed of, and WHEREAS, the County of McCracken is the owner of an undivided one-half interest in such property, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That subject to similar approval for sale by the Fiscal Court of McCracken County, Kentucky, the City Manager of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, is hereby authorized and directed to cooperate with the County of McCracken in advertising for sale jointly by the city and county the property owned by the city and county located on the south side of Jefferson Street between First and Second Streets, and formerly known as the International Shoe Company property. SECTION 2. That the City of Paducah hereby agrees to cooperate with the County of McCracken for effecting a sale of the said property and to subsequently authorize the execution of a joint deed to quitclaim any right, title or interest the City of Paducah has in said property, provided however, that the Boryrd of Commissioners of the City of Paducah reserved the right to reject any and all bids which may be received, irregardless of the desires of the county to dispose of its undivided one-half interest separately. SECTION 3. The advertisement for bids shall be as required by law, and the City of Paducah shall not become legally bound to sell this property until formal acceptance of a bid and the authorization for a deed has been given by further action of this Board. SECTION 4.
