HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 16, Page 1004, No Resolution Number1004 / A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF VITRIFIED CLAY OR CONCRETE PIPE AND ACCESSORIES TO BE USED FOR CONSTRUCTING A SEWER LINE IN THE VICINITY OF RUDY AND REED AVENUES IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to advertise for bids for the following pipe and accessories to be used in the construction of aI sewer line in the vicinity of Rudy and Reed Avenues in Paducah, Kentucky: 18" Pipe 1404.0 L.F. 15" Pipe 1165.0 L.F. 15 on 18 Ys. 1.0 Pc. 15 on 15 Ys. 3.0 PCs. 15" Stoppers 4.0 PCs. The foregoing pipe to be vitrified clay pipe to meet A.S.T.M. specifications C-200 for extra strength unglazed clay pipe and factory moulded plastic joints to meet A.S.T.M. Specification C-425, or said pipe may be concrete pipe to meet A.S.T.M. Specification C-76 for reinforced concrete sewer pipe Class III and rubber -type gasket to meet A.S.T.M. Specification C-443. Prices to be F.O.B. job site. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in the Paducah Sun -Democrat as provided for by law. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board••of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and best bidder, and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to purchase said material until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase contract. SECTION 3.
