HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 15, Page 979, No Ordinance Number979 AN ORDINANCE PROPOSING ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY LYING ADJACENT TO THE PRESENT CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, DEFINING ACCURATELY THE BOUNDARY OF THE TERRITORY PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED, AND DECLARING THE DESIRABILITY AND NECESSITY OF SUCH ANNEXATION BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. It is hereby proposed that certain territory lying adjacent to the present limits of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and more particularly described hereinafter, be annexed to said city, and that said property so proposed to be annexed is accurately described as follows: Beginning at the southwest corner of the intersection of the L6ne Oak Road and Highland Boulevard, said point being the present city limits line; thence south 36 degrees 14 minutes 28 seconds east along the west property line of Highland Boulevard and the present city limits 270.22 feet; thence south 01 degrees 40 minutes 48 seconds east continuing along the west property line of Highland Boulevard 251.8 feet with the present city limits to a point in the south west corner of a lot owned by Krimple; thence north 40 degrees 33 minutes 12 seconds west along Krimple's west line 63.96 feet, corner to Shelton; thence south 50 degrees 17 minutes 48 seconds west along the present city limits with Shelton's south line 157 feet to a point, Shelton's southwest corner; thence north 39 degrees 48 minutes 59 seconds west along the present city limits with Shelton's west line 106.42 feet to the back line of The Hilltop Subdivision, recorded in Plat Book "F", page 34; thence along the back line of The Hilltop Subdivision south L9 degrees 29 minutes 46 seconds west 489.1 feet with the present city limits to a point in Smith's east line; thence south 35 degrees 17 minutes 04 seconds east with Smith's east line 204.74 feet and with the present city limits to a point in Smith's southeast corner; thence north 49 degrees 54 minutes 30 seconds east along the present city limits and the south line of the Smith property 814.09 feet to a point in Smith's southwest corner; thence north 35 degrees 8 minutes west with the present city limits and along the west property line of Smith's property 506 feet to the present city limits on the south property line of the Lone Oak Road; thence north 49 degrees 47 minutes 40 seconds east along the south property line of the Lone Oak Road and with the present city limits 1620 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning at Highland Boulevard. SECTION 2. It is hereby declared that extending the boundary of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, by annexing the property described in Section 1 hereof is desirable and necessary. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be published in the Sun - Democrat, a newspaper in Paducah, Kentucky, as provided for and required in Section 424.130 of Kentucky Revised Statutes, and the extension of the city limits as herein proposed shall not become effective until the adoption of an ordinance annexing the property described in Section 1 hereof, and such ordinance shall not be adopted until after publication of this ordinance as provided herein and until the expiration of a period of thirty (30) days after the publication of this ordinance. 980 Notice is hereby given under the provisions of Section 81.110 of kentucky Revised Statutes, that one or more residents or freeholders of the herein territory proposed to be annexed may, within thirty (30) days after the enactment of this ordinance, file a petition in the Circuit Court of McCracken County, Kentucky, setting forth the reasons why said territory, or any part of it, shall not be annexed.
