HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 15, Page 976, No Resolution Number976 i• A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO A LEASE AGREEMENT WITH CITIZENS BANK & TRUST COMPANY, TRUSTEE, AS TO CERTAIN LAND HELD IN TRUST FOR ILLINOIS CENTRAL RAILROAD COMPANY BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the Mayor and City Clerk be, and they are hereby, authorized to enter into a Lease Agreement with Citizens Bank & Trust Company of Paducah, Kentucky, dated May 6, 1966, and expiring April 30, 1971, upon certain land held in trust for Illinois Central Railroad Company, described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the west line of Clay Street and the northerly right-of-way line of the Illinois Central Railroad riverfront track; thence westwardly and along said right-of- way line which is 50 feet from and parallel to the center line of said track approximately 1300 feet to a point opposite Stations 6+69; thence north- wardly at right angles to the low water mark of the Ohio River; thence eastwardly along said low water mark to a point on the west line of Clay Street, if extended; thence southwestirardly and along said street line to the point of beginning. Such lease is for beautification purposes, and the City of Paducah agrees in said Lease, among other things, that the trimming of trees, removal of dead trees and underbrush in order to create a more scenic view of the Ohio River, will be performed and maintained in such a manner so as not to cause erosion of the Lessor's riverfront property. SECTION 2. This Resolution.shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption, and shall be retroactive to May 6, 1966. ij Mayor Passed by the Board of Commissioners June 14, 1966 Recorded by Sarah Thurman, City Clerk, June 14, 1966.
