HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 15, Page 973, No Resolution Number973 J' A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO A LEASE AGREEMENT WITH ILLINOIS CENTRAL RAILROAD COMPANY AS TO CERTAIN LAND ON THE OHIO RIVER FRONT BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION i. That the Mayor and City clerk be, and they are hereby authorized to enter into a Lease Agreement with Illinois Central Railroad Company, dated May 6, 1966, and expiring April 30, 1971, upon certain land of said Railroad Company on the Ohio:River front described as follows: A strip 35 feet in width on the south side of track, between Station 2+6$ and Station 20+20 (west line of Clay Street) excluding dedicated public streets; A strip 35 feet in width on the north side of track, between Station 6+69 and Station 20+20 (west line of Clay Street) excluding dedicated public streets; And a strip 25 feet in width on both north and south side of track, between Station 20+90 (east line of Clay Street) and Station 29+00 (west side of Madison Street) excluding dedicated public streets. Such lease is for beautification purposes, and the City of Paducah agrees in said lease, among other things, that the trimming of trees, removal of dead trees and underbrush in order to create a more scenic view of the Ohio River will be.performed and maintained in such a manner so as not to cause erosion of the Railroad Company's river front property.or road bed. SECTION 2.
