HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 15, Page 962, No Resolution Number96 j A RESOLUTION REQUESTINIC THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE CITY'S REQUIREMENT OF LIMESTONE FOR THE YEAR 1966 (APPROXIMATELY 1,400 TONS) TO BE USED IIS STREET CONSTRUCTION WORK BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF C0111'ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1_ That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized to advertise for bids .for the City's requirement of limestone for the year 1966 (approximately 1,400 tons). Bid price to he f.o.b. to any destination in the city limits of the Cite of Paducah, Kentucky, as specified by the Director of Public Works. The limestone is to be delivered as ordered, by collect telephone call to the successful bidder or bidders, in 100 ton lots or more and the successful bidder is to guarantee to start delivery within twenty-four hours after notification and continue until the re- quired amount has been delivered. The limestone must meet the specifications known and listed as Kentucky= State Highway Specifications for No. 7, No. 8, No. 9 and No. 11 limestone: The successful kidder may be reouired to Furnish representative samples of any and all items and all weir-hts of delivered material must be certified from some accurate scales in or near the City of Paducah at the expense of the successful bidder. All bids shall provide a guarantee against advance in market price and shall quarantee a reduction in price in the event of a decrease in market price. The successful bidder shall post a performance bond in the sum of Y1,000.00 guaranteeing specifications and deliverv. The City reserves the right to refect any and all bids and to accept the lowest and best bid. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by postin7 a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the re- quest for bids in the Sun Democrat to be published not less than seven (7) days nor more than twenty-one (21) days before the date fixed for the opening of bids. All bids shall he sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the City Clerk up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and best bidder, and the Board of Com- missioners shall reserve the ri-ht to reject anv and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to anv bidder until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing* the execution of the purchase contract.
