FOUR DOOR SEDAN AUTOMOBILES AND ONE (1) NEW PANEL TRUCK FOR USE IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON ',JHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby requested to advertise .for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah, Kentucky of seven (7) new four door sedan automobiles having; the following specifications: I7inimum Wheel base of 119" 15" wheels Power steerin7 Police Package to be described in detail, and to include heavy* duty generator, or alternator, 55 ampere minimum Seat belts (2), with automatic rollers, for front seat Minimum 300 H.F.Engine Color black with white top and white front doors Automatic transmission Heater and defroster Standard equipment to be described fully Spotlight furnished by the City to be installed by successful bidder Dual sun visors Back up lights Spare tire and wheel The wiring in the overhead and through the windshield post, for the red licht on top of vehicle, shall be installed at factory and one (1) panel truck having the followin- specifications: Minimum 110" wheel base 15" wheels Power steering Police Package to be described in detail, and to include heavy duty generator, or alternator, 55 ampere minimum me Seat belts (2), with rollers, for front seat Minimum 192 H.P.engine Color solid white Automatic transmission Heater and defroster Standard equipment to be described fulls Spotlight .furnished by the City to be installed by successful badder Dual sun visors Back up lights Spare tire and wheel 960 Dual front seats Rear bumper Truck style side mirrors Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the purchase of the eight (8) vehicles specified above, and also the amount of such purchase price to be allowed by accepting as trade-in nine (9) police cars as follows: Car Number Make Model, Style 1 1965 Ford Custom, 8 cy. 4 -door sedan 2 1965 Ford Custom, 8 cy. 4 -door sedan 3 1965 Ford Custom, 8 cy. 4 -door sedan 4 1965 Ford Custom, 8 cy. 4 -door sedan 5 1965 Ford Custom, 8 cy. 4 -door sedan 6 1965 Ford Custom, A cy. 4 -door sedan 7 -wagon 1965 Chev. C1405, Panel R -wagon 1965 Chev.C1405, Panel - Noble Park 1962,Ford Galaxie, 8-cy. 4=door sedan less any sirens, radios, -extra batteries, extra generators and police lights on the vehicles to he traded. Each bidder shall state in his bid the popular name and model upon which he bids, and if requested, will exhibit at the City Hall to the City Officials a similar car of the model bid upon with the equipment offered, and must state the length of time required for delivery after a contract is awarded. Each bidder must bid upon all eight (8) vehicles as no split bid will be accepted. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for rids in the Sun Democrat to be published not less than seven (7) days nor more than twenty-one (21) days before the date fixed for the opening of bids. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall 1-,e received after the hour .fixed in the notice for the openin?• of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and hest bidder, and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to any bidder until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of the purchase contract. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect .from and after its adoption.
