HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 15, Page 932, No Ordinance Number93/2 i AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE AMOUNTS TO BE CHARGED FOR CON- NECTING TO CITY SANITARY SEWERS CONSTRUCTED IN THE TERRITORIES IN- CLUDED IN THE AREAS COVERED BY SEWERAGE EXTENSIONS CONTRACT A-1965 SAID TERRITORIES ABUTTING ON VASSEUR AVENUE, HOBSON STREET, BARNES STREET, SEITZ STREET, CENTER STREET, SOUTH 24TH STREET, MILDRED STREET, RUDY STREET, REED STREET, NORTH lhTH STREET, WEST JEFFERSON STREET, WILSON STREET, NORTH 36TH STREET, NORTH 37TH STREET, MINNICH AVENUE, ROSS STREET, LEVIN STREET, CRUSE STREET, TRIMBLE STREET, AND McGUIRE STREET; PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF CONNECTION PERMITS; PROVIDING FOR THE PAYMENT OF THE CONNECTION CHARGES AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION OF THE PROVISIONS HEREOF WHEREAS by ordinance adopted by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, on September 23, 1965 and of record in Ordinance Book 15, page 752 in the City Clerk's Office, a contract was entered into by and between said City and E. A. Sullivan, Inc. for the construction of sanitary sewers in the areas abutting the streets contained in the Title hereof, said contract heing known as Contract A-1965; and WHEREAS, said construction work is now nearing its completion and it is desired to establish the amounts to be charged for connection to the sanitary sewers in said territories; and WHEREAS, the consulting* enrrineer for said project, Edward T. Hannan, and Associates, Inc. did, on May 2, 1.966, advise the Board of Corn- missioners as to the amounts to be properly charved for such connections in said territories, based on the construction cost and number of present and future connections, and said areas being designated by said Eng=ineers as .-follows: District No. 1 - Vasseur Avenue, Robson and Barnes Streets. District NoT2_ - Seitz, Center and South 2hth Streets. District No. 3 - Mildred, Rudv, Reed and North lht-h Streets. District No. 4 - West Jefferson, Wilson, North 36th and Nortb 37th Streets and Minnich Avenue. District No. 5 - Ross, Levin, Cruse, Trimble and McGuire Streets. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THS 130ARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the .roll.owi.nrr charrres are hereby established to he charred for connecting, to City sanit;ar,v sewers in the rollowin* areae: 933 District No. 1 - Vassuer Ave., Hobson & Barnes Streets $565.00 District No. 2 - Seitz, Center & South 24th Streets 300.00 District No. 3 - Mildred, Rudy, Reed & North 14th Streets 460.00 District No. L - West Jefferson, Wilson, North 36th, North 37th Streets, and Minnich Avenue 650.00 District No. 5 - Ross, Levin, Cruse, Trimble & McGuire Streets 545.00 The amounts so fixed shall be paid to the City Treasurer. SECTION 2. No connection to said sanitary sewer systems shall be made by any property owner or other person, firm or corporation except under permit for such connection issued by the Director of Public Works of said Citv. SECTION 3. The Director of Public Works shall not issue the con- nection permit set out in Section 2 hereof until he has received evidence that the proper connection fee has been paid to the City Treasurer. SECTION L. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to make a connection to any sanitary sewer constructed in the above described territories without having paid the proper fee as set out herein and obtained the proper permit as set out herein, and upon conviction shall be fined not less than $50.00 nor more than $100.00 for each offense, and a separate offense shall be deemed committed upon each day during or on which a violation occurs or continues. SECTION 5. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed. SECTION 6.
