HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 15, Page 875, No Ordinance NumberAN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2 OF AA ORDINANCE ENTITLED: "AAT ORDINANCE CREATING AND ESTABLISHING A PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT FOR THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, CREATING POSITIONS THEREIN AND FIXING SALARIES THEREOF", WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON DECEMBER 8, 1964, AND AMENDED ON NOVEMBER 9,-1965 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE. BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH', KENTUCKY: /o SECTION 1. That Section 2 of an ordinance containinp. the title quoted above, which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on December 8, 1964 and amended on November 9, 1965, be, and the same is hereby amended so that said section as amended shall read as follows: "SECTION 2. That in order to perform,the duties of said department, there is hereby created the following; positions of employment at the rate of pay specified: Position Director Foreman Recreation Supervisor Chief Clerk Secretary Girls & 'Women's Supervisors Recreation Center Suervisors Park Guard Base Monthly Salary $6$0.00 420.00 445.00 365.00 300.00 345.00 310.00 260.00 The followinp, positions are hereby created and established under all laws, rules and provisions p;overning civil service. Base Hourly Rate Shop Mechanic (1 position) $2.13 T%intenance Men (2 positions) 1.$$ Laborers (7 positions) 1.63 The Shop Mechanic shall be paid at the rate of $2.13 per hour for the .first six months of employment; and at the expiration of six months x'2.1$ per hour, such increase to be made upon recommendation of the City Manaver. Maintenance Men shall be paid at the rate of $1.8$ per hour for the first six months of employment, and at the expiration of six months 111.93 per hour, such increase to be made upon recommendation of the City ffanaRer. Lal,orers shall be paid at the rate of ti1.13 per hour for the first six, months of employment; at the expiration of six months F1.6F, per hour- and at the expiration of one year ?:1.73 per hour, such increases to he made upon recommendation of the City Mianarer. 87�� 8?C No person now employed in any of the above set out three (3) civil service positions shall be placed under civil service until he has successfully completed a proper examination .for same and has been so placed by motion of the Board.of Commissioners. Upon recommendation of the Director, the Board of Commissioners may, by motion, employ seasonal and temporary employees to be paid at comparable rates based upon the position and responsibility involved, such compensation to be fixed by the motion authorizing the employment." SECTIO\ 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are ,to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed. SECTION? 3.
