HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 15, Page 862, No Ordinance Number8F2 AN ORDINANCE CREATING AND ESTABLISHING THE POSITION OF METER MAID, PRESCRIBING THE DUTIES OF SAID POSITION, AND FIXING THE RATE OF PAY THEREOF BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD CF C014VIISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That there is hereby created and established the position of Meter Maid for the City of Paducah, Kentucky. SECTION 2. The duties of each person holding the position of Meter Maid shall be to patrol the streets in the downtown area of the City for the purpose of checking vehicles thereon for violation of any parking ordinance of the City, and in each and every instance a vehicle is found to be parked in violation of any ordinance, the Peter Maid shall place on the windshield, or other prominent part, i� of such vehicle a notice of such violation using such form as may be � g y I! prescribed by the Chief of Police or his designated assistant. SECTION 3. Each person holding the position of Meter Maid shall be under the supervision and direction of the Chief of Police or his designated assistant. SECTION l:. Any person employed as a peter Maid shall not thereby hecome a member of the Police Department, of the City of Paducah; shall not have any power of arrest or other police power of.a Peace --Officer; shall not he entitled to any civil service benefits under any law or ordinance; and shall be suhiect to removal from said position at any time by the Board of Commissioners of said City. SECTION 9. Any person occupyinP the position of Meter Maid shall be paid at the rate of $270.00 per month :for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $2PO.00 per month; at the !I expiration of one year $290.00 per month, and at the expiration of two I j years $300.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manar=er. SECTIOP? 6 This ordinance shall he in full force and effect from and after April 1, 1966.
