HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 15, Page 857, No Ordinance NumberV ,v,s,Fpc Ai �t j ri" X57 i i AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,'KENTUCKY, BY ADDING SECTION 16-F TO AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE PRESCRIBING THE RULES AND REGU- LATIONS FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH., KENTUCKY, PRESCRIBING THE QUALIFICATIONS, POWERS AND DUTIES AND FIXING THE COMPENSATION OF THE I -EMBERS OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, PROVIDING A SEPARABILITY CLAUSE, AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH", WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF C014IISSIONERS ON JANUARY 7, 1947 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF CORMSSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Section 16-B be added to the ordinance having the above quoted title, which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on January ?, 1947, and which Section 16-B shall read as follows: "SECTION 16-B The following; rules and reeulations as to outside employment or work by members of the Police Department of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, are hereby established: (a) All police personnel must make application in advance to the Chief of Police for permission to work at any outside employment or to carry on any business activity. Written permission, stating the time and nature of employment must be °ranted by the Chief of Police before an officer can en.ra. a in any such employment. (b) The Chief of Police shall :iudpe the proposed employment in terms of respectability for a police officer and interference with police work. (c) No officer bolding the rank of Captain or above may engage in outside employment for more than eight hours per week. (d) No other officer will enFaae in outside employment .for more than 16 hours per seven day week, including; days off and - vacations. (e) Outside employment also includes working in a business owned by a police officer or a member of his family. SECTION 2.
