HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 15, Page 84, No Ordinance Number84V AN ORDINANCE PROPOSING ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY OF JAMES FRED PAXTON AND WIFE, PEGGY S. PAXTON, AND JOHN H. SHADLE AND WIFE, KATHERINE S. SHADLE, LYING ADJACENT TO THE WEST CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, DEFINING ACCURATELY THE BOUNDARY OF THE TERRITORY TO BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY, AND DECLARING THE DESIRABILITY AND NECESSITY OF SUCH ANNEXATION BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. ,I.t is hereby provided that certain territory owned by James,Fred Paxton and wife, Peggy S. Paxton, and John H. Shadle and wife,.Katherine S. Shadle, adjacent to the west corporate limits of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, more particularly described hereinafter, be annexed to said City, and that said property so proposed to be annexed is described as follows: Beginning at a point on the east side of Woodland Drive 120 feet north of the Pines Road; thence northwardly with the east line of said Woodland Drive 200 feet; thence at right angles eastwardly 264.11 feet to the line of Myre; thence at an interior angle of 56 degrees 37 minutes southwardly with said Myre line 201.9 feet; thence at an interior angle of 210 degrees 3 minutes southwardly with another line of Myre 31.92 feet; thence westwardly 151.16 feet to the point of beginning. Being the same land conveyed to the above named owners by deeds of record in Deed Book 392, page 4$7 and Deed Book 422, page 72 all in the McCracken County Court Clerk's office. SECTION 2. It is hereby declared that extending the boundary of the City of Paducah, Kentucky by annexing the property described in Section 1 hereof is desirable and necessary. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be published in the Sun -Democrat, a newspaper in Paducah, Kentucky, as provided for and required by Section 424.130 of Kentucky Revised Statutes, and the extension of the city limits as herein provided shall not become effective until the adoption of an ordinance annexing the property described in Section 1 hereof, and such ordinance shall not be adopted until after publication of this ordinance as provided herein, and until the expiration of a period of thirty (30) days after the passage of this ordinance. Notice is hereby given under the provisions of Section 81.110 of Kentucky Revised Statutes that one or more residents or freeholders of the herein territory proposed to be annexed, may, within thirty (30) days aftet the enactment of this ordinance, file a petition in the Circuit ,Court of McCracken County, Kentucky, setting forth the reasons why said territory, or any part of it, shall not be annexed. 85 SECTION 4.
