HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 15, Page 825, No Resolution Number825 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR'THE SALE TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, OF CERTAIN WALKIE-TALKIE TYPE RADIO EQUIPMENT FOR USE BY THE WALKING POLICE OFFICERS OF SAID CITY, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON' WHICH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, requested and authorized to advertise for bids for the sale to the City of two (2) belt -type, F. M, Transistorized Walkie-Talkie Type Transceivers or transmitter -Receiver combination, complete with all accessories including, but not limited to, rechargable nickel -cadmium batteries and belt type carrying cases, having the following additional specifications: 1. Must be equipped with any necessary and required crystal or crystals .for operation on the frequency of the radio equipment of the Police Department of said City, which frequency is located between 150 Mc and 17L. Mc. 2. Must be equipped with a type of selective call compatible with the base station and mobile units now used by the said Police Department. 3. Must be of a nationally known brand name for which repair parts are readily available. Each bidder must quote prices upon additional rechargable nickel - cadmium batteries of the proper size and type; and upon single and multiple unit type chargers equipped with cable and plug for operation from 110-120 volt, 60 cycle AC power. Each bidder must describe fully all equipment bid upon by him; must give information as to any applicable guarantees; must state the approximate time required for delivery after the execution of a purchase contract; must be able, if requested, to give a full and complete local demonstration of his equipment to Officials of the City; and all submitted prices must include or refer to any or all applicable taxes. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by posting a motice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in the Sun -Democrat to be published not less than seven days nor more than twenty-one days before the date fixed for the opening of bids. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest $26 and best bidder, and said Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to any bidder until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase contract. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
