COUNTY.PLANNING COMMISSION RESPECTING THE PROPOSED AMENDMENT OF
SECTION 23-A-3 OF THE PADUCAH ZONING ORDINANCE -1961 FOR THE PURPOSE
OF INCLUDING THEREIN A NEW PERMITTED USE IN A B-2 DOWNTOWN BUSINESS
ZONE, AND THE PROPOSED AMENDMENT OF SECTION 9 -III -A OF SAID ORDINANCE
FOR THE PURPOSE OF INCLUDING THEREIN CERTAIN REQUIREMENTS FOR OFF-
STREET PARKING SPACES FOR BUS STATIONS OR TERMINALS, AND AMENDING
SAID SECTIONS OF SAID ORDINANCE IN THAT RESPECT
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That a Resolution adopted by the Paducah -McCracken
County Planning Commission on October 27, 1965, entitled "A

COUNTY PLANNING CONIISSION ON THE PROPOSED AT4END1%TENT OF SECTION
23-A-3 OF THE PADUCAH ZONING ORDINANCE -1961 FOR THE PURPOSE OF
INCLUDING THEREIN! A NEW PERMITTED USE IN A B-2 DOWNTOWN BUSINESS
ZONE, AND THE PROPOSED AMENDMENT OF SECTION 9 -LLL -A OF SAID ORDINANCE
FOR THE PURPOSE OF INCLUDING THEREIN CERTAIN REQUIREMENTS FOR OFF-
STREET PARKING SPACES FOR BUS STATIONS OR TERMINALS", shall be, and
it is hereby approved as the final report of said Commission respecting
the matters therein set forth.
SECTION 2. That Section 23-A-3 of the Paducah Zoning Ordinance -
1961 (Ordinance Book 14, page 507) shall be, and it is hereby, amended
for the purpose of including a new permitted use in a B-2 Downtown
Business Zone, that now being accomplished by enacting as an addition
to said section the following:
"(v) Bus Station or Terminal - Subject to the following conditions:
1. A developmental plan showing the location of all
buildings and improvements, parking areas,
loading berths, driveways, entrances, exits, yards,
buffer screens and fences, and plans for the
erection and/or structural alteration of buildings
and improvements shall be approved by the Commission,
which shall have power to require such changes
therein as may be deemed necessary or desirable to
insure safety, to minimize traffic difficulties, and
to safeguard adjacent properties.
2. No change in a developmental plan or departure there-
from shall be made until such change or departure
is approved by the Commission.
3. Sufficient loading; berths shall be required to meet
the needs of the operation, as may be determined by
the Commission.
4. Thoroughfares serving the station or terminal shall
be adequate to carry the additional traffic which
will be created by the intended use.
5. No sales, dead storage, repair (other than emergency
repair) or mismantling of vehicles shall be allowed.
6. The bus station or terminal area shall be developed
as required in Section 9."

SECTION 3. That Section 9 -III -A of said Paducah Zoning Ordinance -
1961 shall be, and it is hereby, amended for the purpose of including
a requirement as to off-street parking spaces for bus stations or
terminals, that now being accomplished by enacting as an addition to
said section the following:
"17. For any bus station or terminal, or any similar use, there
shall be pprovided not less than one (1) parking space for
each two (2) employees calculated on the basis of the
greatest number of employees at work at any one time, plus
one (1) parking space for each four (4) seats provided for
the public."
SECTION 4_ That if any section, paragraph or provision of this
ordinance shall be found to be inoperative, ineffective or invalid
for any cause, the deficiency or invalidity of such section, paragraph
or.provision shall not affect any other section, paragraph or pro-
vision hereof, it being the purpose and intent of this ordinance
to make each and every section, paragraph and provision hereof
separable from all other sections, paragraphs and provisions.
SECTION 5. That this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
