HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 15, Page 770, No Resolution NumberA RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR FURNISHING THE CITY OF PADUCAH WITH ITS REQUIREMENTS OF REGULAR AND ETHYL GASOLINE, MOTOR OIL, DIESEL FUEL, CHASSIS LUBRICANT, GEAR LUBE OIL, HYDRAULIC OIL, KEROSENE AND ANTI -FREEZE TO BE USED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH FROM JANUARY 1, 1966 TO JUNE 30, 1966 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to advertise for bids for furnishing the City of Paducah with its require- ments of regular and ethyl gasoline, motor oil, diesel fuel, chassis I lubricant, gear lube oil, hydraulic oil, kerosene and anti -freeze for the iiperiod beginning January 1, 1966, or as soon thereafter as possible, and extending to and including June 30, 1966, at the lowest cash price per ii unit, unit price to include State Tax, but exclusive of Federal Tax, in accordance with all terms and specifications listed herein. Each bidder must guarantee and state the octane rating contained in the regular and ethvl gasoline he proposes to supply, the octane rat- ing of ethyl gasoline to be not less than 99, the price to be listed as the prevailing tank wagon prices, plus or minus: motor oil to be detergent heavy duty, premium (not to be a fleet oil) and first grade; and first grade non -detergent (requirements approximately 350 gallons of each per six month period); Diesel, high detergent motor oil (requirements approxi- mately 250 gallons per six month period); diesel fuel to be No. 2 (re- quirements approximately 3,300 gallons per six month period); chassis lubricant to be all-purpose (requirements approximately 150 pounds per six month period); gear lube oil to be 1110 and 90 weight (requirements approximately 700 pounds per six month j P period); kerosene (requirements i approximately 3,300 gallons per six month period); anti-freese to be permanent type (requirements approximately 150 gallons per six month period). The requirements .for regular gasoline will be approximately 32,000 gallons per six month period and for ethvl gasoline approximately 30,000 J rallons per six month period. The successful bidder will be required to furnish and install four i (4) electrically operated and metered gasoline pumps, necessary tanks and required concrete islands and will be required to furnish one (1) I electrically operated and metered diesel pump and underground tank. Bids shall provide a guarantee against advance in the bid price and shall also guarantee a corresponding reduction in price in the event of a decrease in the market price of any of the items bid on. The bidder will so state in his bid that he agrees to give 24-hour emergency tank truck service to any point in the City of Paducah seven days per week. 771 In the event of a temporary tank wagon price less than normal, the City will he charged the normal tank wagon price less the discount or the temporary tank wagon price without the discount whichever results in a lower net price per Fallon of gasoline. Each bidder shall bid upon each individual item, and all incomplete bids will be rejected. The lowest overall bid will be accepted unless all bids are rejected. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by postinr a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of request for bids in the Sun Democrat, as provided for by law. All bids shall he sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the openinF of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the openine of same shall be filed with the Board of commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and best overall bidder, and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the richt to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to purchase said products until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase contract. SECTION' 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
