HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 15, Page 538, No Resolution NumberA RESOLUTION PROPOSING AN ADJUSTMENT IN THE HOURS OF BUSINESS AND EMPLOYMENT OF VARIOUS ESTABLISHMENTS, FIRMS, PERSONS AND CORPORATIONS WHEREAS an adiustment in the hours of business and employment of the citizens of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, would afford more time and opportunity for such citizens to engage in recreational activities, thereby Promoting the good health and welfare of the community in Feneral, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of said city recommends and urges all citizens of said city, churches, business and commercial. estah- lishments, theaters, factoriesc.and all other persons, firms and corporations therein, to regulate and adiust their hours of business, employment and convening to one hour earlier than usual during the period of time from 2:00 o'clock A.M. on the last Sunday in April, 1965 to 2:00 o'clock A.M. on t e Sunday in September of said year, so that the system of time in said City of Paducah durinF such period shall conform as nearly as it may do under the law to the system of Daylight Saving Time, as in effect in other localities, and that in each vear 'ereafter-such voluntary advancement of one hour over Central Standard Time may be in effect in the said City of Paducah during corresponding periods, and that in order to avoid confusion and to promote the orderly conduct of business, the.aforementioned citizens of said City of Paducah, churches, business and commercial establishments, theaters, factories and all other persons, firms and corporations advance their clocks by one hour during said desii7nated period. SECTION 2. Nothing herein contained is intended or shall be construed as authorizing, recommendin7 or urging that any person, firm or corporation do or omit to do any act in violation of any valid applicable law, SECTION 3.
