HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 15, Page 532, No Ordinance NumberAN ORDINANCE PROPOSING ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY LYING ADJACENT TO THE NEST CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, DEFIArING ACCURATELY THE BOUNDARY OF THE TERRITORY PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED, AND DECLARING THE DESIRABILITY AND NECESSITY-OF SUCH ANNEXATION BE IT ORDAINED BY THE $OARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. It is hereby proposed that certain territory lying adiacent to the west corporate limits of theCity of Paducah, Kentucky, more particularly described hereinafter; be annexed to said city, and that said property so proposed to he annexed is accurately described as follows: Beginninr at a point on the north line of the Hinkleville Road where the present city limits boundary intersects said line, said point beinr* approximately 150 feet west of the west line of 32nd Street, if extended; thence continuinp with the north line of said Hinkleville Road 3500 feet, more or less, to a point on the north line of said Road where same would be intersected by the west line of Allen Lane, if extended; thence continuing across said Road in a southerly direction and with the west line of Allen Lane '100 feet, more or less, to a point where the said west line of said Allen Lane is intersected by the north line of the right-of-wav of the Paducah and Illinois Railroad Companv; thence in a southeasterly direction and with said line of said Paducah and Illinois Railroad Company richt-of-way 2700 .feet, more or less, to a point where said line of said right-of-wav is intersected by the boundary of the City of Paducah; thence with said houndary line of the City of Paducah in a northeasterly and northerly direction distances of approximately 1360 feet, L05 feet, 130 feet and 391 feet to the point of be Pinning on the north line of the Hinkleville Road. SECTION 2. It is herebv declared that extending the boundary of the City of Paducah, Kentucky by annexinp- the property described in Section 1 hereof is desirable and necessary. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be published in the Sun-Democrat, a newspaper in Paducah, Kentucky, as provided for and required by Section L21.130 of KentuckyRevised Statutes, and the extension of the city limits as herein proposed shall not become effective until the adoption of an ordinance annexing- the property described in Section 1 hereof, and such ordinance shall not be adopted until after publication of this ordinance as provided herein and until the expiration of a period of thirty (30) days after the passage of this ordinance. Notice is herebv Fiven under the provisions of Section 81.110 of Kentucky Revised Statutes, that one or more residents or free- holders of the herein territory proposed to be annexed, may, within thirty (30) days after the enactment of this ordinance, file a petition in the Circuit Court of McCracken County, Kentucky, setting forth the reasons why said territory, or anv part of it, shall not 1-e annexed. 533 SECTION 1,.
