HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 15, Page 523, No Resolution Number523 , A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE NEW MEDIUM PRICE CLASS FOUR -DOOR SEI3AN AUTOMOBILE, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the Citv'ManaFer be, and he is -hereby, requested to advertise for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah of one (1) new medium priced' 1165 four -door sedan automobile having the following specifications: Standard equipment to he described completely by each bidder; and to be equipped with standard brakes and steering; seat belts for front seat; heater and defroster; automatic transmission; stock color to be selected by the City and the popular name and model to be 'stated by each bidder. Each bidder shall state"tlie amount he will accept in cash for the purchase of the automobileF he offers for sale, and shall state the approximate time required for delivery after the execution of a purchase contract. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by a notice posted at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for hids in the Sun Democrat'to be published not less than seven days nor more than twenty-one days before the date fixed for the openinrr of bids. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall he received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and best bidder and the Board ofCommissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to any -bidder until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase contract. SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
